Not a Robot

I love this series and feel like each episode is only 5 minutes long. Full disclosure, I love odd couples and slice of life, so this series falls right into both for me. The point is, the characters are not supposed to be the perfect couple from the outside, but where it counts, they fit. Takara is used to being judged by his looks and the only person he feels real affection from is his grandfather. Taishin comes from a loving family and is very outspoken for a Japanese man. While Takara has to stuff his feelings, Taishin is like a fountain. Taishin isn't the handsomest man in town, at least he understands Takara in a way that not many people do. I loved how Taishin carefully planned their date, down to making a program and bringing hot sauce on the date for Takara. In contrast, Takara uses the program to cover his face when laying on the blanket, but Taishin doesn't have a hissy fit, he continues looking for the blue bird. When Taishin loses his wallet and it is returned, Takara comforts him, and helps him re-evaluate his feelings about being a total failure. But that's just my. biased opinion.

Having lost a wallet in Tokyo, I can relate to his situation. My wallet was found and returned to me, and I could feel Taishin's sense of being a total failure on a thoughtful and carefully planned date with Takara, and how sweetly Takara comforted him. Just because Taishin grew up some place, doesn't mean he knows how to hike. I know people who grew up in Hawaii who hate the beach and do not know how to surf - or swim. Hopefully this series will get better for you, but I really like it so far.

Actually, Konishi looks more like the manga character of Taishin than Iwase as Takara. He is doing an excellent job with his portrayal of Taishin. What the naysayers are missing is how Takara and Taishin have a lot of similarities. While focused on creepy and ugly, they are missing the beauty and nuances of this budding relationship. Both actors are doing a great job bringing their characters to life. I agree with you about the beauty shaming that would not be tolerated under other circumstances.

Don't let them chase you away. You can tell by most of the comments that they don't understand nuance and that BL manga is a very diverse genre. I love this series, I've read the manga and think that it's very well done.

I loved episode 8. Taishin is quirky, but so is Takara. If Takara was not a handsome, cool, prince, he would be thought of as odd duck with his glass and marble collection. I thought it was super endearing that Taishin made a program for their date, but didn't get angry when Takara laid on the blanket and used it to cover his face.

I can relate to the wallet situation because I lost my wallet in Shinjuku Tokyo, one of the busiest places on earth. I was rushing to the post office when I dropped it. I backtracked and saw a man holding it, probably to turn it in. Thankfully my driver's license was inside (normally I leave it in my hotel) and I showed him to confirm the wallet belonged to me. That Takara was not irritated by the whole situation, made me so happy.

Best wishes. I hope that you enjoy it. I will wait until the series ends, then read the reviews. Oxin shows have such potential so I don't know how they end up mangling the product in the end.

I don't care about kissing. One of my favorite series is Cherry Magic - no kissing. I just cannot stand the cutesy, goo-goo, gaa-gaaness of GL and how now there is an obligatory GL couple in every BL series. My complaint with this series is, the dumb love triangle taking up most of the show and when Judy violates so many boundaries that males get criticized for, it is excused. This was marketed as a BL with Off and Gun being the main couple, but that was clickbait. My fast forward button works, but I noticed that I'm watching a fraction of the episodes. They should have just marketed this as a GL with Judy and Bamhee as the mains, and like Summer Night, I would have just passed, since there are so many shows out there now. Except for Ryan, Jane and Pie, I don't find the characters that interesting, and the setting doesn't do anything for me. I'm hoping with the rising popularity of GL, they slowly leave the BL space. At least manga is still a safe space for now, but honestly, yuri readers wouldn't want BL to intrude on their space either.

I must be much slower than the average Thai viewer because it took me until episode 4 to figure out the different costumes.
1. The ugly pajamas is when they in the writer's room.
2. The Chinese costumes are when Shan and Ob-un are collaborating on the novel without the other writers.
3. Regular clothes when they are just being in real life selves.

I would like to see Yim and Tutor being given more serious roles. Tutor looks like an angel in his close-ups, and I'm enjoying looking at Yim's eyes.

I think I got confused because it sounded like you didn't like the Thai version. I think I understand that in the future, they should stick to Chinese actors and language for future projects. I agree, but it might have to be like this project where they accept 1-2 Thai actors. Blue Canvas of Youthful Days got pulled and now we don't know if we will ever see the remaining 8 episodes. That means we may have to compromise in the casting.

Except for the Crown Prince, all of the actors are Chinese. I watched this in Chinese. So it may be the show if you cannot find interest in the series. There was a Q&A where they asked the actors to send a message to their hometown fans in hometown dialect, so this series is done in Beijing dialect.

Huaien's father will be revealed toward the end of the series. The third prince is not seen but they are in his territory. The young crown prince, Shaoyu is the son of the first prince, now Emperor, and the Empress. He will be the next Emperor. Huaien's mother was a concubine of the Emperor, the is the character that all men fall in love with. She was from the Xue clan and given to the Emperor by her father for political reasons. The Empress was jealous and had her killed. Xiaobao's younger sister is adopted, and she is from the Xue clan, the only survivor of a massacre, which makes her a blood relative of Huaien.

I hope so too, but adding GL already shows otherwise.

I have mixed feelings since the actors are so young, and now they are throwing in lesbians like they are decorations. Give the lesbians their own shows. It is starting to seem like a gimmick now. Becky and Freen, have shown that they have their own fanbase. I'm not sure why they did not cast 18 year olds for this series. It isn't like 10 years ago, there are plenty of actors who would take these roles.

I'm not mad, but I enjoyed Keita Hatsukoi much more because I love slice of life, and I don't feel the Thai version has captured that as well. I also think that Gemini and Fourth deserve something more challenging at this point as well since they proved themselves in Moonlight Chicken. If this adaptation made you happy, that's all that matters.

Takara no Vidro which is currently airing. i wouldn't call it courting but he followed a guy he met once to university. HIStory 3: Trapped.

Because Xiaobao was an airhead, flitting around like a feather in the air, he is like that older. brother with a brocon. Now that Xiaobao is finding his adult feet, he will probably be able to back off.

Pon and Sailub have great chemistry! Pon had good chemistry with Bank too, but this show is fire. I hope Pon and Sailub are given another series together as the main couple.

I despised the original Ossan's Love to the point that I can't understand why so many countries remade it. I wish you luck.

I'm just not feeling this adaptation. I think that Gemini and Fourth deserve a better series. They showed they have the talent in Moonlight Chicken, so I would like to see them in other roles.
