Not a Robot

From the comments, this seems to be a Korean story similar to Get Real from 1998. Any other geezers out there who can tell me if this is the case? I expect a bittersweet ending, but I don't want to see the MC continue to suffer. The synopsis says the MC achieves complete personal growth, but I'm seeing many comments about crying. I love gay cinema but don't want to watch Savage Nights on endless loop either. And yes I know the director and star of Savage Nights was bisexual. Thanks in advance.

It's late at night here so I will watch it tomorrow. I'm expecting a bittersweet ending, meaning the MC will be free of the mental chains, but relationship may not last. Seems like people are enjoying it so far.

I want series Patt to be a little more stern like novel Patt, but I guess that will happen next episode and spill into episode 8. This is the problem with some exes who think if they are the dumper, the dumpee is ready and willing to take them back. I just wish that Patt got in a few kisses with his ex in the flashback, since we've had to watch Elyes kiss half of Bangkok.

Even though I'm here for Elyes and Pat, I have to admit that as much as they criticize James for his acting, the man has kissed 4 other actors before episode 3. I tune out the music so I usually don't notice it. I will listen for it next episode.

It's okay, not spectacular, but the actors playing Noh, Phun and Earn are pretty good, and are conventionally handsome. This is definitely not a dud like Addicted. Most of the other cast is just good looking, their acting doesn't do anything for me. They upped the budget so the it has a nice look and they don't have to depend on the Siam complex as much for locations. It's pleasant and you will probably enjoy it. The people who were little kids when the 2014 version came out are now watching this, and it is more geared toward their generation.

I read the manga many years ago, which is why I haven't decided whether or not to watch this. I can handle toxic stuff, unless it involves children and CSA as this series does. I hurt for Kirino too, but at least he has a daughter to love. Since the manga is almost 15 years old, the bittersweet ending of such a twisted story may be the most realistic result.

I bought it on meb, but books on that platform are expensive. I don' know of any free sources.

If you aren't already watching it, Smells Like Green Spirit is in a toxic setting, as well as being toxic. The story is dark, but it is a very good for people who are okay with watching dark topics, like bullying, violence. I read the manga many years ago, waiting for the series to finish before I watch it, but people seem to really like it.

There is a gay film from 1998 called, "Get Real" made in the UK. I don't know if it is available for streaming, I have the DVD. This film was made before smartphones and apps, so it may seem outdated to younger people. If you need a HEA ending then pass. It is more bittersweet happy for the MC though.

I watched these. I usually will finish what I started, even if it is terrible. Most of the toxic shows are pretty terrible.

1. I Told Sunset About You & the sequel, I Promised You the Moon. Teh is one of the most toxic MLs I've watched. Everything is always about him, how he feels, what he wants.
2. Check-Out. It's a terrible series, so if you can stomach the terribleness, it's toxic.

There is an old manga series called Viewfinder or Finder in the official translations. One of the villains turned ally is named Fei Long Liu. It has been in serialization for almost 20 years. Being that it was intended to be a BDSM, non-con oneshot, the relationship starts in a bad way. Even though the MC is a BAMF, he gets kidnapped, the whole trope. If you absolutely hate non-con, and old school storytelling I do not recommend this manga series for you. Asami and Akihito are one of my OTP but I acknowledge that older series may not appeal to readers in the current era.

It will be interesting to see gay culture in a film, especially cross-culturally. After seeing the reports of homophobic responses from some Korean netizens, I hope someone in Korea decides to make a documentary of the response. The problem is, in Korea, criminals get their faces blurred, so maybe a filmmaker outside of Korea can show their handles uncensored, and out some of the bullies. Homophobia is why we rarely see more effeminate males even in BL, it's mostly gym dudes, and tough guys. Gay culture is not the women's world of BL, it's a male culture. I hope that the production company does not try to make a tragic ending to appease the bullies. Whether the MC is in a relationship or single, I'm hoping that he has a personal happy ending as a gay man.

I watched 4 BL episodes and it was bad. I think they do the neck kissing because this is for broadcast television. It's too much of a soap opera for me.

It's too bad. I just found out that they went private. I'll never understand why some people just cannot abide by the subber's requests.

MDL is the platform equivalent of the disaffected 13 year old. They hate everything except severe angst and mediocre reboots.

I love this series so far. I will admit that I like the cold character trope though. My problem is, when I hear, "Fei Long" I immediately think of Viewfinder. It will take me a little while to get used to it.

I like the cold character trope, so I like this series. I've liked Kad since Superboy and I'm glad that he has a lead role. I wish James were in a show like Addicted, where he can play someone closer to his age, while not being a minor.

One of my least favorite series because I hate the ML, but I Promised You the Moon. It is the follow up to, "I Told Sunset About You" which I also can't stand. But MC tore ML up in IPYTM which made viewing it enjoyable. P.S. I dislike the series because of the ML who is a selfish, jerk. The acting and cinematography are stellar.

Don't worry, he finds some, if they stick to the novel.
