If you don't mind tsundere x overthinker, Utsukushii Kare was very good. They made a lot of changes to the novel, but I really enjoyed the acting and beauty of where they live in Japan. If you haven't watched His - Koisuru Tsumori Nante Nakatta, the series, I recommend that one too.

Much better adaptation than the movie. I feel that Taichi is more like the manga this time around. Taichi is a difficult character to play because the character very expressive, but is not so outlandish that he comes off as over the top. All of the actors are doing a great job.

I want to know about Joe #2 as well. I'm embarrassed to admit that in ep 12 if only Joe and Ming were on the screen, I fast forwarded through those scenes and thought I may have missed what happened to him.

If I were in grad school, I would do a paper on how some audience members will absolutely not forgive a drunken kiss, or kissing a sleeping person, but will allow redemption for an multi-modal abuser, kidnapper, and person who contributed to the main character's death. The acting was first rate, but I could not stand Ming and puppy Joe. I hope that Up and Poom continue to switch acting partners for every project because they are both great.

Unpopular opinion but, I was disappointed in the final episode. I forgave all of the plot holes such as waking up from a 2 year coma and doing stunts without any PT, forgiving a guy who emotionally verbally, physically abused our protagonist, kidnapping and detaining him, and forgiving Tong. The sugary sweetness was embarrassing to me. I did read some of the source story, and yes it was icky sweet in the end too. What I cannot forgive is the fake shooting stars over Bangkok, where light pollution makes seeing stars impossible.

I'm really looking forward to this. After reading the novel, I didn't think this had the content to be a series instead of a film, but after seeing the pilot, the changes they made will make it doable.

I enjoyed this series. It was campy and funny. Camp comedy is not for everyone, but I loved the bats, Thaiwlight City, the capes, the over the top villains, the Tchaikovsky music, etc. I am an OG audience participant of the Rocky Horror Picture Show, so will always have a soft spot for this type of series.

I can see that happening, but it would be a cruel twist for some viewers. Some people already losing it over Ming and Joe, and if it were all a dream???

We only have one more episode. I didn't like Ming that much, but loved the acting, even the supporting characters. There are a lot of Chinese BL novels written with a darker tone, but I hope they don't adapt more of them after Addiction.

I think Joe is an idiot too, since once Ming started being nice to him, he let go of his goal to live a different life in his new body. Love makes some people idiots. Some people are on death row and doing life without parole over love. In the end, Joe will have to live with Ming for the rest of his life and be his puppy.

As a Buddhist, he will be going to be reborn, but I don't think he will leave Ming to have to deal with everything. by himself.

His body is ash and sitting in a urn, so it will be difficult, but I get your point, he should go to be reborn. Being a Buddhist, that is their belief.

Come on Thanwa! Don't go back, he is already cheating on you (phone action at the table). Also, Latte, stop being dense. Be straight forward with yourself as you usually are. I love this show and care about the characters, even the supporting characters.

I'm excited, but wish they would finish Love is More than a Word.

This was the first danmei BL, so no historicals, only modern. Butterfly lovers was supposed to be a BL, but the law made it change to male x female. In my opinion, had China not passed the law against gay and feminine men on screen, they would be where Thailand is today, or at least neck and neck.

I'm still worried because the govt still has reach with social credit scores, etc. But since they are allowing the actors to work in this series, hopefully they will allow a censored version for China and an uncensored version for international release to keep the actors out of trouble.

Back in the day I said that I wish Taiwan would adopt it, but people were telling me the accent thing, etc., but now that time has passed, maybe people would be more forgiving of the accent.

I'm still heartbroken by Love is More than a Word being cut short and Butterfly Lovers turned MxF, so I wish this project great success.
