I don't understand why this series gets 6,8, and Ai long Nhai 7,8. Huu guys, are we watching the same shows? I…
I like both shows, and think they are pretty on par with each other. I think 2 Moons 3 is carrying some baggage from the bad history of the franchise. It's just like when some people see that Mame wrote the story, they will automatically downvote it, without even watching it.

On 2 Moons: The Ambassador Nov 19, 2022
Every week I enjoy this show more and more. They made a great decision by focusing on the new characters, while the original characters remain in the background. Not happy about not having subtitles during the text argument between Tatch and Lom. I think that Lom should have defended Tatch since the girl herself admitted that she was in the person in the wrong.

Am I the only one who thinks Tsubasa resembles Kiyoi from "My Beautiful Man"? It's not a precise resemblance,…
I think he also has a similar appearance to Lin Yu who played OuWen in Love is Science.

Although this episode was sad, I really enjoyed that the characters interact physically like a real couple. They don't stand 6 feet apart while talking and their hand holding and small touches are like a couple in love. I was hoping that Kevin would stay at the house, but hopefully it will turn out well next week.

Title Remember Me Spoiler
Has Mean said he is straight? I don't get that vibe from him.
I have to remember that my generation had to go to bars and meet in person, and elder gay men would take younger gay men under their wings. Now with the internet and apps, maybe this is not as common, so the sarcasm, parody and humor of the gay community I grew up with, might not exist anymore. I'm open to changing with the times, but then I have to reserve the right to be offended if someone uses the term "fish" as well haha. Admittedly, the first time I was referred to as a "f@g h@g" I was a little offended, because I thought I was being called ugly to my face. Once I realized this wasn't the case, I rolled with it. That was way back when you did not self proclaim yourself an "ally", you were a friend or a sister. Then again, I'm from the generation where Burning Man was an event my lesbian postal carrier went to in the 80's, now it's a bunch of hipsters and elites.

I think there are gay men who enjoy BL even though some of them complain about it. I loved the movie Latter Days, but it is just like a BL.
The fan service is something that makes me uncomfortable because of the "games" they have to play at times. I just look at the number of young women who brave the heat of Thailand to attend the events. I'm with you, the thought of kissing another woman is not something that I find appealing. I would not want to pretend to be her girlfriend either.

I was being hyperbolic, but now that I know about the other meanings behind gay for pay, I will not use that analogy again, unless I clarify why I used it. I appreciate your patience in teaching me about this, and I enjoyed our conversation about that topic. Some obviously professional ships like Off/Gun, or Bright/Win, have fans that will tear you apart if you state that they are not real boyfriends. I've been on the receiving end of it. However due to low wages in Thailand and everywhere, I support the actors doing events, I just with they would be honest that they are just close friends. This is why I have mad respect for Zee and NuNew because they have officially stated their relationship status. It took them a while, with all of the pressure from everyone, but I'm glad that they did.

I can't speak for the other person, but to me, we weren't arguing, we were having a discussion. I do not have ill feelings, I actually enjoy listening to opposite points of view, as long as the discussion is civil, including your comment. I do not have to "honor" everyone's personal feelings, when my intent is not to harm. To "honor" is implying that their position is superior to mine, which it is not. Gay for pay doesn't dishonor gay men, it is a slang term used by the porn industry to describe straight men who act in gay porn. It's less common now because they are able to cast gay and bisexual men in porn, but in the 1990's it was a thing. In the current culture, women have to take a step down to everyone, it's almost as bad as the time before we got the vote. Why not honor women by not getting offended when a person has a legitimate criticism of women are being manipulated by an industry, into thinking people "might" be gay, or are real couples, when they are not, then uses a hyperbolic colloquialism to make a point? Do I get offended when gay men say, "fish" or "hag?" Should I be offended? Like you, I was alive during the AIDS pandemic, and having worked with HIV+ clients, I don't remember gay for pay being part of the gay liberation movement. In my time, it was mostly about not getting beaten up, or killed, and to have the same basic rights entitled to all human beings.

Many of use got into BL because we wanted to support the community, and since we are women, like the romantic side. I'm not turned on (emotionally) by Grindr encounters or monogamish, open relationships, etc., so I don't have interest in those types of stories. The difference in the lesbian stuff is that most of that was porn. That's why I'm worried about the industry producing GL. They have to tread carefully in order not to attract a bunch of male simps who just want to see two women kissing.

Back in the 80's we had many androgynous men and women around, but then again, I was part of the new wave movement, Rocky Horror Picture Show crowd, so maybe my social group was a little skewed. Admittedly, I know almost nothing about being gender fluid. None of my friends were gender fluid, since I know most of them in adulthood, unless they are closeted. Thank you for educating me about your experience. Like I said, I'm not mad at the other poster, but if I feel like using hyperbolic language, I will continue to do so. I've never been a feminist, but I'm starting to get more irritated by what I see as the silencing of women, displacing of women, and sidelining women, because some people think their oppressed group is more oppressed than ours. I do not believe in victim card games or the oppression olympics, but I believe in being able to agree to disagree and remain friends.

When people are close, you can be more direct, but Issei and Mamoru are not close yet.

Well, when you confess, then you get argument and told that his feelings cause you pain, it's rather difficult. Issei thinks he is being noble and backing off. Issei should have said something when he saw the shrine in Mamoru's house. haha. I saw the trailer for the next episode, I hope that they talk about their feelings clearly.

so if that was a ove confession, why would Mamoru behave this way? He first complained that Issei's liking him…
Because they are both off context, and are not asking for clarification or explaining clearly. With a high context language, both have to be on the same page. Mamoru overthinks every situation, he knows that he is gay, he is assuming that Issei is straight. So if a straight guy says that, Mamoru is taking it as a classmate liking him has a friend, which is why he asked for all of those comparisons. When Issei just affirmed, instead of saying that he likes Mamoru differently, it caused Mamoru pain, thinking his love is unrequited. We viewers know what's going on, because we see the big picture.

I'm not fluent in Japanese by any means, but when Issei says, "dai suki da" or "suki da" it is usually synonymous for saying "I love you" in an indirect way. Use of the word "ai" would be too strong. Many, if not most Japanese speak indirectly, and since their language is high context, both parties are usually on the same page. Mamoru being the cat chasing his tail, isn't reading the context, he is assuming that he knows how Issei feels. So while it seemed like a silly scene to some viewers, Issei was actually making a love confession. To a native English speaker, nuance is one of the hardest parts of learning spoken Japanese.

Has Mean said he is straight? I don't get that vibe from him.
I understand where you're coming from, but I'm coming from the perspective that straight men have always pretended to be gay if the money is right. I have a problem with it in BL because the actors lead fans on by pretending to be gay or bicurious in order to keep mostly women attached and continue coming to events, and brands get to sell products. I'm not against fan service per se, because of the actors being able to make a living, but to hide that they are straight, and to pretend that they may be a real couple to lead women on is pretending to be gay for financial reasons. Since I'm a woman, and the target of said fan service, I feel it would be better if it were clear that they are in character at the events. At some of these fan meets, they are asked provocative questions, and are clearly uncomfortable with being asked.

I empathize with your point of view and the real struggles of being gay, and am not trying to disrespect. The use of hyperbolic language like "gay for pay" is to point out that we are using gay baiting and innuendo to attract mostly women to make purchases and attend functions. BL is mostly female driven commerce, and although I have been pleasantly surprised by number of gay males viewing these shows, the audience and purchasers are 98% female. Not only do they attend functions, but they buy the actors very expensive gifts, rent food trucks, and give them money. Just like with the straight gay porn actors, I can't really criticize straight BL actors for needing to make a living. The larger issue to me, is that the actors should not nave to hide their sexuality, and be able to be public about having a girlfriend. But when money is involved, they will continue gay baiting and innuendo.

To me, the fan service, and pretend couple thing the actors do is getting paid to pretend they are gay. I actually don't care about fan service, because the actors make money from this, and wages in Thailand are low. I think it is similar to what straight guys do in gay porn, without oral and anal sex. The actors can't come out and say they are straight, give vague answers about their sexuality, and they have to be lovey-dovey for money. If a stolen kiss or a drunken kiss in a drama is depicting SA glorification, then a lot of BL is gay for pay. That's just my opinion.

I saw their interviews because that was when there would only be one BL airing, and the actors would go to cast interviews. Since BL has blown up in the last 1-2 years, it's hard to keep up.

Mean is straight. Watch Love by Chance and some interviews they did back then and you will see that he was one of the most uncomfortable gay for pay actors in Love by Chance. Fun fact: he is one of the first IVF babies born in Thailand.

This and 2 Moons 3 are my guilty pleasures. Nothing serious, even when they are trying to drug people, injure people, and point guns at people, I know that it will be okay. I have to say, I like the actor who plays Lip. Both female characters are typical of what you see in Asian dramas. The smartest person on the island, and the easily intimidated damsel, who really isn't evil.

Name, Em and the old lack of communication disease. Neither can empathize with the other. I'm all for supporting Name to overcome what he is going through, but it isn't right to push him "for his own good" without clinical supervision. Em cannot be angry or jealous if Name finds another good friend and no longer has time to be devoted to him when he comes home to visit. I hope that Name isn't going to be tricked by anyone.

This !!! Thank you. This series delivered in more ways than one... it touched a couple of real life issues and…
I'm happy for the viewers who have not experienced this type of loss, because some of them can sit on their little preaching stool and criticize Eiw. But if it happens to them, they will finally get it. I compare them to people who think they know all about parenting and tell parents what their kids wouldn't do, then when they become parents, they are the most overwhelmed parents we know, and have to admit they were ignorant. You only need to "sacrifice" the time of an episode to be empathetic, then they can go back to worrying about who is a real couple, and who their bias is. I know that I'm being rather harsh, but the complaints seem harsh too.

You said this much better and more to the point than I did yesterday. 😁When Fluke and Earth do a scene like…
I would love to see Earth be in different roles. My dream is that he is a drag mom, or someone like Khun in KinnPorsche. I want Earth that type of role to flaunt his talent in a flamboyant way for the haters.

I agree, you do have to go to a dark place to cry like that. Anyone who has lost a mother, or a significant parental figure prematurely can sympathize with how Earth conveyed the emotions through Si-Eiw. The scenes weren't just for the sake of crying, the character was deeply hurt.

I think this site has a lot of simps, or new to the genre. The simping over Cake/Santa was evident. Cake was like a typical young man (doesn't wake up, want to shower, is a jerk at times) and people were swooning. It's because he is conventionally handsome, and more importantly, masculine. Most of the complaints about Earth and his acting are often behaviors and mannerisms more attributed to women. I will defend Earth to the end, because I've been around more fem gay men than I can count, and I respect their strength. Yes, even some gay men get annoyed by Earth, but a lot of gay men in real life do more annoying things than cry and whine. People are people and we are all annoying at times. People who do not think they're annoying are the most annoying.
