I would agree with the idea of portraying the FL moving on as a core part of the development of her character……
Yeah, i kinda agree with you.
Honestly, she is pretty much driving the story so far.
There’s some issues with her writing, for example the godot scene pulling of a: “yeah i left but you didn’t asked me to stay either” cliche, but no doubt her storyline makes for a more interesting watch than his
So the discussion that, a "selfless and infinitely patient" male lead and a "slightly unstable and…
I would agree with the idea of portraying the FL moving on as a core part of the development of her character… i just don’t see the show going that route so far: she “moves on” as a way to prompt me to look at her personality as in: what does that tells me about her? But the narrative theme is all about returning and she is no better now than she was before leaving and neither are her circumstances (she herself tells him so).
Hence the scene of “godot never came back… but you will right?” and the subsequent follow up with “coward” .
At this point i am just in for the entertainment and curious on what story the shows is trying to tell and how expects me to interpret it.
I feel like this will be that kind of drama where the guy will display some kind of “larger than life” level of unconditional love… which is both unrealistic, flat and leads to no character growth at all to either of them because there’s no actual consequences, self-reflection or even the incentive to realize what they have done wrongly in the past and how to avoid the same mistakes going forward since he is always “oh so kind” and all potential points of conflict lead to nowhere because he is Buddha incarnated and she doesn’t get actual consequences.
As it stands… these two have already irked me a couple times at least:
She is shown as unstable, egotistical and self-absorbed.
He is shown as overly romantic, sentimental, easily manipulated and has poor self-steem.
So the show better address the issues and circumstances of why they didn’t work in the past and what has changed since then to make a second chance romance worthwhile.
It would be nice to see a actual second chance romance where these two grow together, not another self insert mary sue fantasy.
Those are my first impressions , so the show might surprise me even though i am not optimistic.
Been digging this one so far, couldn't care less it has the similarities to other drama's: that's what cliche and tropes are for (all about that execution).
The beginning is full of good premises, some nice set up to future plot's too, let's see if they can actually deliver till the end.
Really hope this doesn't turn into a "one case per episode with a shitty linear plot in between" type of drama.
The titular show about "dangerous housewives" waded into cliche territory with the bored Gangnam housewife trope.…
My two cents:
When it comes to the relationship, the wife ends exactly like she begins: easily willing to give up on it.
You got a point there: throughout the whole drama she was missing her own past life but how willing was she to fight for it? Even when she saw her husband against all odds and alone (it takes the effort of two people to fix a relationship) trying to glue the pieces of the vase SHE threw in the wall she chose to apologize and leave. She kept that pattern to the very end, as seen on how fast she was willing to give up on him as soon as she saw him with another woman.
That's the problem with the end: he came back to a relationship that has the same major flaw that pushed said relationship to a downfall to begin with.
I'm here as well! It's a pity that one can't create groups here in MDL haha. We really need a Ji Pyung Nation…
Saw some good feedback on black and missing the other side, will be looking into those too. Now that i think about a good comedy might fit just right after this whole start up fiasco... do you have any good comedy one in mind?

I am a jack of all trades as long as genre goes, but i have been on a action/fantasy/horror mood now because of uncanny counter, mistery too... don't mind romance mixed in as long as it's is well placed. Also, saw you recommending fight for my way and i already put on my to watch list
HJP gang! (And everyone with whom i shared my frustrations over the past months) add me here! I can't find all of you through the sea of comments T.T plus, recommendations please! (doesn't need to be airing)
Let me adress some points since i liked how you're open to discuss it:The problem with NDS is that his character…
They are presented as each other antithesis early on, looking close to their personalities you can see they approach the world in opposite ways, wich goes way beyond just individualities: impulsive vs calculative, dreamer vs realist, introvert vs extrovert and so on. I don't deny the change happened, NDS didn't ended as the exactly same he started: when i said he felt short of what he could be is because even though he did changed, his growth and character arcs were poorly done, being in my opinion, anticlimactic at most (there's only so much you can do with the time given after all). Although i must say i feel like the first and second half of this drama don't communicate well with each other, wich makes any analysis foggy at best because sometimes seems like you are looking at two different narratives that lack cohesiveness.
I thought i would be way more disappointed than i am right now but i guess i just don't have the energy to spend on this drama anymore, i feel relieved this is the last episode instead. The comments sessions were cool, HJP has to be one of my favorite drama characters ever and the theories were also entertaining, may we bump in each other on a better drama.

For me at least

So far it seems pretty straightforward
