I just can't connect with this FL's character. She is really unlikable to me, and it makes it hard to enjoy the story as much as I want to.

they do break up near the end and the second couple are honestly better than the main couple in my opinion.
Ugh! Such a typical break-up story in K-dramas, but I’m glad to know about this happy ending—now I can continue watching with peace of mind. Thanks a lot!

Oh noo... If you’ve already finished it, can you please tell me if they get back together at the very end of the drama? You can totally spoil it for me 😅 Thanks for the reply!

Wait, I’m still on Episode 6 and really enjoying Ji U and Da Hae’s romance! Don’t tell me they break up later in the story? Or you guys talking about the second couple here in the comments?

I swear, Oguri Shun is aging like a fine wine, so manly and gorgeous.
I have been a big fan since I don’t even remember when, it is crazy how I have watched almost all of his projects, including his support role in GTO .

The moral of the story: Emotions are powerful.
Every character is driven by their strongest feelings, acting with an 'I'll do it or die trying' mentality.

I feel kind of bad rating this a 7.0/10 — and honestly, this 7.0 is all thanks to the cast and their amazing acting.

That said, after finishing the drama, there were two things that really bugged me. First, the leads (especially our Ambassador!) somehow finding time to go all lovey-dovey during such intense, high-stakes moments… like, seriously? How does that even make sense? It just felt so out of place.
And the mother-in-law’s villain act? Way too over-the-top to take seriously.

Saw someone say the only good thing in the last two episodes was Uhm Tae Goo’s presence (and that voice!), and honestly, I couldn’t agree more.

Just, you know, for science and no other reason in particular but has Kang Dong Won done romance in any of his…
I don’t know if I’m a certified Kang Dong-won fan, but I’ve seen about 14–15 of his movies, and honestly, he’s always been pretty “conservative” when it comes to on-screen intimacy. That’s why this love scene in this drama felt like such a punch in the gut 😅

For me, I have always admired his mysterious untouchable broody man vibe. Yes, in his earlier films (Temptation of Wolves, My Brilliant Life, Jeon Woo-chi, A Violent Prosecutor) he had those teenage romance, loving husband and very cheeky playful flirting roles, but (at least from what I’ve seen), he's never gone into this kind of mature intimate love scene territory until Tempest hehehe.
Feels like all of Korea (and me) are short-circuiting right now.

Maybe it’s just me, but I didn’t really find the intimate scenes all that appealing. They felt kind of rushed and didn’t really add much. I was hoping their romance would stay more subtle and emotionally deep — like something more mature.
Anyway, it just didn’t give me that butterfly feeling at all 🙄.

Just finished all the new episodes and a couple of things are on my mind:

1. The mistress reveal totally caught me off guard — it was heartbreaking. I really feel for Mun Ju.
2. The situation at the end of ep. 5 felt so random and kind of unnecessary... like, they could’ve just hugged or held hands when the song came on instead.

I agree. I haven't seen him before; what would you recommend I watch?
As mentioned - he’s such a movie guy, but for me I’d recommend some of his recent ones. The Plot is really solid, and if you’re okay with heavy violence and blood, Uprising is intense but worth it. Oh, and Broker—IU’s in it, so that’s a bonus!

I’m planning to check out Golden Slumber, A Violent Prosecutor, and The Priests next. I’ll let you know what I think once I watch them 😉

Kang Dong-won always has that haunting, melancholy aura in his roles.. and those eyes of his, carry this deep almost eternal loneliness, like he’s seen too much of life already. Even when he smiles, there’s this undercurrent of sadness. Way too much of “lonely soul” energy that breaks my heart somehow and makes me want to hold him and protect him.

An hour-long episode takes me two hours to finish—know why? Because I keep rewinding all of SSH’s scenes. He’s just so fine, I can’t take my eyes off the screen 😍

It was so touching I teared up!And you could totally see his younger self in him at that moment too. Lee Min Jae…
Me too :")
And ugh yesss!! The casting was so good, I really wish we got more of Lee Min Jae, he’s insanely talented and lowkey stole every scene he was in!

I can’t get over how masterfully Seung Heon portrayed his emotions at the end of episode 3. The way he conveyed both longing and quiet assurance in that one moment—when he went to see her after confirming that it was really her—was absolutely breathtaking!

Omg, that gaze, and those subtle facial expressions… absolutely priceless. Such an exceptional actor!
