Like many here, I also feel like the ending was rushed and left a lot of questions. I feel that the writers want to let us assume whatever ending we want for most of the characters. This show started promising but soon started to disappoint. My expectations were a bit off. I was hoping for a more in-depth plot on what it is to live as a blind person, but it was just a means to the silliness of the money plot. Most of the characters soon became annoying, mean and greedy, except for ML but he was also not perfect in the end. The ML was an intelligent, good-hearted, charismatic character but with serious need to be loved, which was sad and looks like he never was able to move on and took him down a bad path. The FL was not typical. Initially, she appears to be very isolated, with no friend, no job, and not much of a life. Once she gains her sight, she becomes immature, a bit reckless and either silly or plain dumb. Maybe even a bit spoiled. It’s like by gaining sight she lost a good number of her brain cells. Her acting as a blind person was quite convincing but that was all cancelled soon after regaining sight. At times she was sweet but often petulant like a child. The dynamics of the families were interesting but never fully addressed. The ML and his mom felt like they were being controlled by the stepfather, which if his orders and wishes were not followed, he threatened to leave them. The whole debacle with Kang Ju being forced to quit for having too many degrees was, I think, more about control than anything else. Basically, Kang Ju did something that was not approved by his stepfather. Ironically, having too many degrees was bad but having none was okay as we saw later with his bio son. This made the Chairman, in my opinion the worst and least likeable character. His bio son also had very similar and unpleasant characteristics. He didn’t seem to reciprocate the affection that the family that took him in gave him. Otherwise, why lie to them for so long and never helped. I think he was just about him and his feelings and no one else. Like the Charmian, he was quite hypocritical in the way he moved to replace KJ, which was hard to watch. In truth this character was very small but left a bad impression. Darim’s family were a mess from beginning to end. The grandparents started to annoy after one episode, and they caused the family downfall. The older sibling garnered a lot of resentment toward the mother but also towards the blind sister. We didn’t get to see if the resentment toward the blind sister was merited. It is possible that Darim used her disability to get her way, which often happens when a sibling get special attention, they take advantage of it. Darim’s mother was a bully and dispite popular opinions, I think a bad mother. She pretty much ignored the older kids, and I felt that the way she treated her blind daughter was more like a child that deserves a lot of pity. I don’t think she thought her daughter was a whole-person due to her disability. This was clearly expressed by the grandparents when referring to Charim as being pretty and could marry anyone she wanted. Darim on the other hand, they felt could never marry. Ultimately, the desperation to give her daughter sight trumped everything; morals, ethics and even the law, and let her to commit a serious crime. There was a lot of screaming and slapping around. Not only by Kang Ju’s mom but also by Darim’s mom, grandparents and even Darim. As the saying goes, I think poor Kang Ju ended up with someone just like his mom. Yes, like his mom, Darim is immature due to being overly protected, a bit reckless, likes to also scream a lot, particularly at Kang Ju, but with a good heart. Similarly, Charim may have ended up with someone like her father. Someone striving to be someone that they couldn’t be on merit. Of course, Charim father didn’t have someone to buy his law degree and Tae Won has the Chairman to give him a title. Overall, it could have been a much better show. Most of the actors were good but the script was not.
Well put and agree totally. Never understood the hate for the chief of police here. She did her job.
Sorry , for those that have the high ground the other way as well. Also, it’s not about high ground but a discussion of fictional characters that rubs us in different ways based on personal experience, education, background, etc.
Well put and agree totally. Never understood the hate for the chief of police here. She did her job.
It’s not about morals it’s about law & order, and there is nothing moral about stealing either. It’s actually one of the 10 commandments of things not to do… for those that think they have the high ground.
Well put and agree totally. Never understood the hate for the chief of police here. She did her job.
I don’t know if most of the comments here ok with the thieves getting away with it are from US, but I assure you that it’s not how it is here. I would say is the opposite. We incarcerate way too many people for way less than $10 million, which is another issue for another day.
Well put and agree totally. Never understood the hate for the chief of police here. She did her job.
There’s different police units. The money stolen was not petty theft. Are you saying that it’s okay to commit a theft crime because police shouldn’t bother with that type of crimes? Would you like to live in a society like that where you can be robbed and it’s ok? The police shouldn’t bother helping you because they’re more important crimes.
Blind Love! How apropos to the beginning of this story! It will be “interesting” to see how the writer thinks…
I don’t know much about this genre, but probably it will be generally happy ending, at least for main couple. I do hope neither mother ends up with the chairman. I dislike this character the most. Him and his son I find absolutely repulsive.
I haven’t been watching for a while because I lost interest as this show became more and dumb. From the comments here it seems that the thieves got what it was coming to them. I can’t say I feel sorry for them since they never showed any remorse until they got caught. Still, I’m surprised that almost 90 year old are incarcerated. Maybe house arrest would have been enough.
I’m waiting to see if some of that bad karma comes to the chairman and his son. In my opinion, these two characters are the most despicable and there are plenty of unlikely characters here.
I was never a fan of the FL. I hope she grew a bit now because for most of the show she was so immature and dumb that was painful to watch .
ML mom was always enjoyable to watch. I really like how she stood to her ex husband and would have like to see her become more independent but the writers had other ideas that didn’t make sense to me. Still, I like her because she never pretended to be anything but what she is. Don’t really blame her for the tax evasion bull since, at least, she didn’t technically broke the law. There is something to be said about a law that favors the rich but there is a point to be made that the money was already tax and why should it be tax twice.
Poor Kang Ju looks like he still going through a rough time after all . Darim and her family are bad news, but he is persistent in his blind love.
Thoughts on episodes 31-32:At this point I cannot even arrange my thoughts properly. I am heartbroken for Gangju.I…
Well thought out yes, and you’re nice. I’m not as nice, I guess.
KJ should not feel sorry for 8 years ago. He barely new her.
Being blind is a serious disability but not life threatening. Many blind people around the world live fulfilling lives. It a shame her family treated her like a little child instead of helping her live a more independent and normal life. This was a big missed opportunity from the writers to showcase how a blind person can be independent, special with all the modern advances.
If being desperate gives you the green light to steal, the world would be complete chaos and none of us would be safe. They committed a crime and it is a crime irrespective of country.
Aside from being thieves, they are not too nice that they inspire much empathy.
KJ was screwed by his despicable ex-stepfather and and now by this family. Because of this blind love he now feels for Darim, he betrayed his mom, his business is almost gone and about to taken by his despicable ex- stepfather and his equally despicable son, which, like hyenas are waiting to profit from him.
Yes, KJ can do better than Darim and he definitely can do without her nasty family and his nasty stepfather.
I think exactly the same! I wouldn't be on Ji Yeon's side if it was HER decision not to pay taxes. But it was…
I think you mean the grandparents and the mother destroyed everything for their kids by stealing. If that is what you are saying, I definitely agree with you.
Great point you made and very true. It seems more clear that this is going to end with no accountability for the…
I understood and full heartedly agree with you. It is a sad day when we find excuses for the thieves.
You may have misunderstood my comment, I didn’t mean that if they were nice they should’ve been pardoned, but that we could’ve felt a little more sympathy towards them, specially the kids that, through no fault of their own, were dragged down.

I’m sorry I couldn’t helped it. This may be the most ridiculous comment I read here.
For those of you that can’t stomach so much stupidity in here, check this one out.

Its true that these loopholes are not fair, but also not illegal.
