Honestly, I think it’s bad writing and direction that hinders Prem - not his acting skills. I assure you that…
Well, I swear I didn’t come up with the tropes that disparage gay men 🤦♀️ I mentioned the tropes because most BLs still use them. Good or bad - they are in the script. Actors are not out there on the set by themselves. They have acting coaches and the director. So whatever they are doing at the end is approved by the director. You’ve taken acting. Has your teacher never given corrections? I bet they did. Same with the director. I was on a movie set and one scene was being retaken for over half a day to get everything right to a director’s liking. So if an actor does something absolutely abominable in the scene and it makes it out to the world - to me it’s a director’s fault. I never said Prem (or Boun for that matter) was the best actor in Thailand. But he’s taking me through the story, and I am grateful for that. Do they all have stuff to learn? Of course they do. And I agree with you that it would be for their learning benefit to act with different partners. But those details like kisses - if a director didn’t like it he’d be hiring a special choreographer to teach an actor what exactly he should be doing for a particular scene. Unfortunately, a lot of companies in Thailand just milk the industry while they can without investing much. They figure the audience will eat it anyway as long as there’s enough eye candy.
I think they do it, because the WinTeam story isn't that well thought out. I have seen people say that even in…
Yes, the premise of BL itself is boy-boy-story 😂 it’s all about details and background that should make them a bit different from each other. And that’s where they need talented writers to make it happen. And as we agreed before, there’s a huge deficit of that for now. The shows I mentioned at least tried to have different details and genres. To me, that’s a progress. What can I do - I am optimistic 🤷♀️😂
I’m going to say something that is going to be unpopular. Prem acting red to keep up to the level of Boun. At…
Honestly, I think it’s bad writing and direction that hinders Prem - not his acting skills. I assure you that if the writers or a director meant for that kiss to be hot, a director would make Prem retake that scene until he got it right, and we would see only the final result - a totally hot kiss. If this kiss appeared to be an “air kiss” - that means Prem was instructed to do so by the director. A lot of times in BLs ukes behave like old spinsters when it comes to any physical signs of affection, even if they just had a night of hot sex and have been with their partner for a while. Why the heck they do it like that? Who knows, maybe they just assign a female gender roles to males because they do “copy/paste” from a hetero drama to a BL instead of creating a normal relationship 🤷♀️ As for splitting those ships - I am all for it as I think fan service only brings money to the company while harming the actors. And each actor should be looked at as a separate entity, which as human beings, they already are. If it makes sense for the script to pair them up again - sure, why not. But I don’t think they should be stuck with each other forever. I wish the best of luck to all of them! 😻

For NCs, same here. That’s exactly what I mean that they should make sense for the plot. Solid writing of the characters included 😉 That’s also where chemistry comes in. Some actors can pull it off just because they are best friends irl, some need a “choreographer” involved - I don’t care how it’s done, as long as it’s done nicely 🤩 I never said all the series I mentioned were perfect (maybe just a couple), but they scored huge points from me because they sincerely tried to do something different. So I liked them (some more than the others) and will be waiting for more. By the way, I loved the aesthetics of On Cloud Nine - short series, small studio, absolutely gorgeous. 😻

I noticed they increased the number of NC scenes and I don’t mind NCs as such, but they have to make sense for the plot. Otherwise I’ll lose interest. Korean BLs are different, just like their hetero dramas. They are great storytellers, so I have high hopes for them. If we’re talking about Thailand, I hope for more series like Manner of Death, Triage, ITSAY, Sky in your heart, Cupid’s last wish, and others that tried to branch out into different genres. Like KP, Not Me, Dear doctor I came for your soul, RakDiao, and I’m sure I missed several more. So I am hoping that there will be more and more interesting series coming our way. 😊
Wtf who puts a break up scene in the middle of the episode and makes it look like a time skipAlso side note Nhai…
Moreover, they had this scene as part of episode preview last week. Wtf? 🤷♀️ Anyway, I don’t think Ping handles crying scenes too well, that’s why it looks a bit off to me. It’s ok, he’ll learn in time 😊

I haven’t read the novel, but I agree that writing somehow is an afterthought in BLs. I guess it’s because there’s still few of them (even with the latest influx) and the audience will eat it up anyway as long as the guys are cute enough. Hopefully, with more BLs coming out there will be enough competition to hire expert writers from different genres and expert crew, in addition to handsome leads. 😻
I think by having so many side couples the company is just fishing for data - which couple would be popular enough to have their own series, that’s all. So good luck to the actors! 😻
Thank you, BL gods, for giving Ohm and Fluke a promising nicely done show! Ohm is finally allowed to use his face and have more than one expression! 🙏 I really like the way he plays Mum, and can’t wait to see their story!
Separate huge THANKS for having Plustor here, especially for giving him a role opposite of a regular slut 😻 Not that I mind him in slutty roles - I love his work, so I’m taking whatever he has 😂 But it’s good for him to play various characters. So now it looks like he’ll finally get his own man! 🤩😻
Of course, now I did it to myself and have to struggle waiting for a week for each new episode! 🤦♀️
She is a kind of mother-figure who literally brought Bai Lang up after the parents died. I would never let anyone…
Same here 😊 And as I said above, I would totally support her in her protectiveness, if she didn’t know An well. But the way she used him to babysit her brother - she must have trusted him already, right? So why put on a show? Just for the sake of the show? 🤷♀️
You have to remember she's not just her sibling, she's his mother too. She raised him since he was like 8 or 10.…
That’s why I said that they are trying to be nice to her 😊 I would totally understand her if she didn’t know An. But she’s known him for years, and she had no issues pushing her brother on him to “take care of” while she was away. So he’s good enough as a babysitter, but not good enough as a partner for her bro? 🤦♀️
In ep 3 thi's brother tells him that noey is a bad guys and even ended up in prison and he even roams with a gun......
Right, that’s what I’m saying - those are baseless rumors 😂 anyone can say anything, it doesn’t mean it happened. They showed it as OTT specifically to indicate that those rumors are false 🤷♀️
The chemistry between Kim Jung Hyun and Cha Jung Woo is woefully lacking. There's a lot of angst but not much…
I agree - JW and JH give off estranged spouses vibe, not current lovers living together. I think it’s rather a habit for JW and sense of safety to keep living with JH. As for JH, I agree with the college girl - he’s obsessed with JW and as long as he’s within his reach JH is content, even without physical contact.
I also was confused as to why JW doesn’t use his pen name, but maybe it’s because he feels like if he does - he gives in, admitting his fault, while he really didn’t do anything wrong. Idealistic? Yep, for sure, but it could be his character’s trait. We’ll see what happens 😻
I love the show. The only thing is - sister plot is a bit of an overkill. They are all adults, so realistically, she can shove her opinion where the sun doesn’t shine. The boys are just trying to be nice to her. I don’t think I would be that nice if my sibling tried to challenge my relationship, but I guess the writers needed an additional obstacle. The sister should be seriously jumping up and down with joy for her little bro to snatch a man like Xun An! 😻
I don’t know about the friend’s sexuality. 🧐 At the bar, he seemed to be really uncomfortable when he was…
No problem 😊 I finished the manga, and it’s very cute with some smut here and there. Of course, the series won’t implement everything, but let’s see what they dare to do. 😉
