Yes, it’s very different between different countries - that’s what makes it so interesting for me to watch Asian shows. On my 2nd or 3rd show I got the idea of “filial piety” ingrained into the culture on a very deep level, and I do get it - it’s not that different from my own. I guess in my culture the difference (at least, with the shows) is that both parents and the kids will bend backwards for each other, with parents having kids’ interest as priority. Of course, it also depends on family as people are different. And of course, nobody’s cancelled guilt trips arranged by moms (mostly), but at the end of the day, adult kids have the reins 😍

Yep, same here - as I said, his character can do whatever - wreck it all or just read a phone book, I’ll be happy to see him, Plustor is a wonderful actor.
I , too, wish he’d get different roles - how do they not see his potential, is beyond me. Well, let’s hope he gets a ML soon! 🙏

I’m totally with you on that one 🤩 Plustor’s characters can wreck homes, cheat and slut their way through the shows - I don’t care, just please show up! His characters are just adorable, like puppies who chew your shoes and pee on your carpet, then plop on their butt and look at you, and you go “awww, cute” 😂
Besides, in this particular case, he didn’t have any malicious intent, he was just getting to know a potential partner for a hot night - what’s wrong with that? 😻

Wow, I didn’t know about parents being informed! In America you just do whatever you want as long as you are of legal age. That makes a huge difference - I absolutely agree that coming out takes a lot of courage and a lot of risk with the people you know and love most (in most situations people have ok relationship with their family). Where I live - he could be happily married and his parents wouldn’t know. Again, technically speaking - of course, it’s natural to want your parents be included in one of the most important decisions in your life. As for minors getting married - in the USA, it depends on the state. In some states only people 18+ can get married, while in others with parents permission you can get married earlier.

Technically, Jerry is not a minor and he could get legally married and adopt Kai without his parents knowing. He just chose not to. Or maybe if Damien proposed to get married it would help Jerry come out to his parents. Who knows? Parents might accept their relationship faster if Damien “put a ring on it” - it happens with hetero relationships too :)

Well, I am a straight woman, and I enjoy watching all kinds of couples, which certainly includes effeminate leads. I think different people provide different stories, which makes it so interesting. If every story was the same - what’s the point?
Sometimes a show portrays an effeminate character as whiny and frail (and it’s ok once in a while),
and I agree that everyone would only win if they showed more confident, maybe even a bit bitchy (in a fun sense), dominant effeminate guys. That would be another “flavor” I would enjoy seeing - what kind of story he would bring along 😉

You’re right that switching is not really shown - SCOY did have that scene, I remember now. The boxing couple did switch but it’s based on their conversation when the “top” calls his partner “wife” (another thing I strongly dislike) and he gets “after what I did to you last night - who’s the wife” or something along those lines. In DBK it’s a side couple and they are more open about it, literally discussing their positions for the night. Btw, I loved the intro to DBK - both music and cinematography. Never skipped it :)

Just curious - what series did you see with the verse couple? I remember Dark Blue Kiss, Y Destiny (athletes couple), Bad Buddy. I like it when they break those “BL laws” - in reality, it’s not just strictly top/bottom couples, so it’s good to see a variety. And yes, I know BL is as far from reality as Disney princesses movies, but still…

I think they were attending the girls’ wedding. I, too, was absolutely sure they got married. Apparently, not, or Jerry’s id wouldn’t say “single” 🤷‍♀️

I think girls might have done IV and one of them gave birth to Matt - I think they are about the same age with Kai, but I might be wrong. I think Damien’s been established as Kai’s bio dad from the beginning since it was his dream to have a baby while Jerry was strongly against it to the point of breaking up with Damien for a while. That’s where he made this huge compromise for the first time.
For now, yes, Kao seems like a winner for Jerry, but I’m sure the authors will come up with some big reveal about Kao that will degrade his stellar reputation.
Honestly, I am ok with Jerry being with Damien as long as he’s happy - but he doesn’t seem to be happy, so either Damien has to get his shit together, or Jerry has to stop being a regular saint.
