romance not being central to the plot also helped bc the leads just didn’t have that chemistry. both were amazing actors but they simply didn’t have the spark. I was shipping Jingyan and xiyang at the end bc that was the chemistry I desperately craved.

episode 34. the way I LAUGHED when Xiyang held Jingyan by the collar and said I NEVER MESS AROUND WHEN IT COMES TO REVENGE and his response under his breath “you crazy woman…” 💀I don’t even know if it was supposed to be funny but excellent execution and comedic timing 😂

still on episode 32. drama is great so far, so many twists and turns. I wish the leads had more chemistry but it is what it is. I suppose it helps that one plays a ruthless killer and another a valiant warrior. the rigid relationship sort of allows for slightly less chemistry. it’s funny bc the second I saw susha princess and jinxia emperor in the same frame, I was like wow, instant chemistry despite the dysfunctional relationship. def fun to see stars onscreen either have it, or they don’t. excellent acting from everyone though.

regarding chemistry

I just finished love in the clouds with hou ming hao and then started fated hearts. I thought mine eyes were deceiving me bc this guy looks exactly like HMH.

it took me ten episodes to get into it. I was confused and had to come here and ask for assistance to understand what the heck was going on. but i think after episode 10 i was able to get sucked in and understand things on my own. but boy, it was rough at the beginning for me. glad I stuck with it though!
