so previously all she wanted was to be the empress and she did. but she betrayed and killed a lot of people to get there? and now she wants to redo it and not go to the palace so she wouldn’t have to betray people?
at the beginning, Xie Wei was just walking into her room and they talked and she ended up committing suicide. why did Xie Wei have such power over her?

T_T why is she constantly talking to herself and scheming-ish. and is Xie Wei super bad? why doesn’t Xue Ning want to associate with him? what’s with Yan Lin and his infatuation with Xue Ning now but it keeps flashing back to what seems like a lot of betrayal? and don’t even get be started with the politics. can someone help me pls. TIA!!!

totes agree. I think producers or directors or whoever these high level execs are overestimates fans’ interest. yeah we’re obsessed but we get bombarded with so many other stimuli - movies, music, other dramas basically any type of entertainment for our consumption that it’s so easy for us to lose the feeling we once had. it’s unfair for us! but also, kinda unfair for the artists + writers who give it their all just so these execs can make money (?) by prolonging the wait and fans who once cared just don’t care anymore. I personally hope I still care when season 2 comes out. who knows?
this drama is disappointing. it’s bland at best. the writing is poor and the chemistry just isn’t there. it’s a waste of raw talent from these great actors. Dylan who starred in the awesome Love Between Fairy and Devil and Bai Lu with all her awesome series esp love is sweet. (drawing that comparison since she was also working in an office in that drama)
Bai lu is a journalist and she’s able to get invited into the home of a high ranking CEO (Dylan) bc she said she left her costume jewelry in his car. okay yes he’s mildly attracted to her but it still doesn’t feel right. what do the writers take us for?! make things make sense.
Dylan also just looks younger than bai Lu, he doesn’t have that mature look about him so while I love that he gained some weight, he still looks really young. his whole CEO character doesn’t fit his look. and Bai Lu unfortunately looks older than him (bc she really is) so it’s hard to see her being this meek female lead in the presence of a unsuccessfully executed brooding male lead.
wish I loved this, I really love these actors. dropping. 🥲
just started watching, currently on episode 3. not bad so far. the only issue I have with this is that everyone talks really slow, esp the FL and her fellow wufeng assassin bride candidate. I realize it’s probably to build suspense since this drama has that mysterious feel to it. but I’m sitting over here just screaming at the tv… TALK FASTER.
