Warning this comment has spoilers for Ep. 8 - - - - The crying scene was nice the human comfort between the 2, My romantic heart wanted him to say "Let's get married" but my logical heart was glad he did not. So much in this ep was soo good.
Players did not know that the game would come down to 1 winner until later on.Why do I say that? People organized…
I believe on reddit as much as do twitter, that is to say not at all. It is tbe nature of the game. But here is the beauty of dramas. There is no right or wrong just opinions. Inference is a thing. And it is implied and inferred that thete will be only one winner.

They knew there would be only one winner, because no game has 2, I would just have the promise with my husband that whomever wins uses the money for whatever their goal was. This promise does not lessen the sting. Remember they RETURNED for the money, one of them did not stay behind and live. they basically bet on doubling their chances, and lost.
This is such an awesome article thank you for taking the time to write it. I have seen about half of the dramas in this article and have yet to dip into an asadora. My 3 taigas Itaden, Taira no Kiyomori, and Tempest did not make the cut. :(
So many good dramas did not make the list, but there can be only 10 in top so -- Shouganai (しょうがない) : )
AS some one who both writes articles and watched death games, I can say this is a well thought out article, Great Job! So from a break the mold POV by fleshing out the characters the most SG wins. I have an article coming up about all the death/debt games I have watched from Game of Death to SG and the one thing they all do is follow one character, the main, who you instantly know will survive. SG gave us the story of many and some people clung to one character they liked best.
Admittedly I watch mostly Japanese so if I state I like AiB better than SG it would be seen as country preference. What I can say is that SG was very predictable. Every game, every time. AiB on the other hand while the games were easy to figure out the Protagonist went from Uncertainty to sadness to resolve to find those responsible for his plight. Everyone in SG wanted to be there.
Marketing wins for SG too I must agree but I will be watching Season 2 of AiB, SG AND Sweet Home which came out the same time as AiB.
