I liked the idea of this 1 year contact marriage. If you want to continue, extend, if not, the end. No legal battles…
The idea of a 1yr marriage contract is weird. Marriage is principally an economic institution designed to protect property. That's what makes the idea of a 1yr long contract such an interesting idea. Why one year? How does this length of time benefit the people in the contract? I wish the show had explored this a lot more.
Ultimately, not even Gong Yoo could save this. It either needed to be more of a thriller, or more erotic, but as it stands, it's just sort of--I dunno, blah maybe?
I wish it had leaned more into the 1yr marriage contract idea. So much potential there to write something that was edgy and forward. Instead, the idea is just sort of plopped into the story like it's the laundry, doing very little to service the plot.
I like it. It's slower than necessary, but honestly, that's almost okay if it means I can watch Fan Zhi Xin for…
Also, and I should've mentioned this above, why does the camera take shots of shoes so often? Are they sponsored or something? Director never misses a chance to take a picture of the actors' feets.
Some of us watching what happens in South Korea and we are shaken at the level of entitlement that seems to be…
Agree, but this is rot, and the rot starts at the head. Agencies treat their clients like they're commodities, not human beings. Their interest in their clients is to treat them like cash machines, with no right to have even the most basic of private lives. Add to this the tolerance for this shit throughout South Korea's culture, in spite of some restrictive laws that govern on-line harassment, stalking, defamation, etc. and it's no wonder that celebrities are finding that suicide is the only exit.
I like revenge plots, and mini/micro cdramas actually do revenge plots often and sometimes well, so I'm looking forward to watching this when it's finished and subbed.
One think you can know for sure, without watching a single episode of this drama (or reading a single comment) is that with a rating of 6.7 (at the time I'm writing this), the commenters are pissed. Which means it's not just an ending that's NG, but an ending that's NG and then some.
The title is a nope, though. "50 Shades of Grey" has an extremely specific context that isn't properly ported outside the BDSM community. Using it your way, to connote character stretches or playing parts that are outside the actors' usual limits is a misrepresentation, I think. "Click bait", as it were.
50th Cdrama this year where the ML has been in love with FL since he was a child and stayed pure virgin waiting…
There is a reason you've been turning up on that list in the forums, yo.
I don't know--maybe you're enjoying being trollish. But if not, maybe think more first, then write. Because you're sort of writing like an incel, you know?
I like dramas where the FL learns from a mistake, turns over a new leaf, and sets out on a path to remake/rebuild herself into someone more resilient. This plot sounds like that.
The problem is, show is 120 episodes, and so it'll be at least episode 50 before she makes the course correction. But the first 49 episodes, she's going to be the victim of lies, betrayal, bullying or torture which is going to be tiresome.
But, to pass the censorship they improved his character and his story. And we can see this from the synopsis itself.
Oh, I don't think they love it. It's just that they don't have any choice: show has to be licensed to air, and the Chinese government issues the license.

Wasted opportunity, really.
But holy shit with the background music. Why is it so annoyingly loud and invasive?
Pull up your fucking socks, South Korea.
But, the hell is a "Fevenger"?

If I'm wrong, it could be a pretty good daily.
