The main couple looks cute on screen but the love story has plot holes. Why he started to be caring for her so…
Thanks for your reply. Now I have a better understanding of the situation in the book. There is ground for him to be prejudiced or for her to be "ashamed" . But in the drama it is very unclear. I fear I will disagree with you. There is no ground in their common past and no addition of little events for him to be prejudiced towards her. And to see that he quickly becomes caring for her... it is even more weird and not understandable. This is were the writing of the drama is lacking.
Also for the other points I underlined, for me it has to be logic and consistent. I accept that he noticed she is a fighter but him taking her on his shoulder in front of everyone? Using the shower head to water her? Looking after her the whole nigh in the hospital? ... out of the blue? That's strange. You don't do that to a girl unless you feel you are close enough to tease her.
Noble idiocy can be an explanation but for me, if he really likes her and cares for her, he should involve her because they are an item. He should not say "I don't want her to see me in my downfall". She is here to see you and help you in your downfall. It is what she did. She helped his family during that time. Same for him putting her in the dark and calling his ex for help??
All these details make the romance not savoury and not sparkling for me but I will keep watching to see how it ends.

Thank you for your long answer and for taking the time to make your point. Anyway I have to confess I did not read all of it. Because you referred to the book for a huge part. I did not read the book and I do not want to be spoiled of what will or might happen.
The drama is inspired from the book but I assume it is a piece of entertainment in itself. It should not be judged in connexion with the original story but it should be judged on its own qualities and flaws.
So I am just judging this drama on what it shows to me. There are things that I like and things that are poorly executed and make people disappointed.
I loved the first part with XS falling in love and throwing herself at the young talented but naïve doctor. I am dubious about the part XS and YZ became closer. I hated the part when YZ was in limbo and drank like an idiot because it was too out of character. Also the scenes were stuffed with lecturing speeches drippling with nice and good values. Now I like it again because business wise it is time for showdown and the good guys are chasing the bad guys.
Romance wise, I am not so interested anymore. The romances, the three of them: first couple (XS and YZ), secondary couple (Xiang Yuan and FanLu), third couple (SiQi and QunFei)... they have no sparks.
I finished ep 34 and this drama went from having a good plot to blah. There is no plot anymore, it's just whatever…
I understand the romance plot and the business plot but I think it is poorly executed because these two plotlines are poorly mixed. Business wise, an international fund eyes your company, uses an inside man to get rid of you and then launches an aggressive takeover bid, that's understandable. Romance wise, falling for the ex of your best friend or for the older borther of your ex... why not?
But the mixing of the two with elements unanswered, loose ends... it makes it tasteless. Like you said there is no sparks between the two leads. Business or Romance wise, they should be together fighting together and have interactions to prove their feelings for each other. Supporting the other one... Protecting the other one... That's not love. That's duty. And this drama is trying to sell duty as love. This is why it does not work.
Fan Lu and Xian Yuan.. I don't even buy their story. Them can change and become better people? but I absolutely don't care. Fanlu despised her husband from the very begining. I don't see how suddenly she gives a value to her marriage. As for her husband, he needs to pay for the wrong he did but I am pretty sure they will let him unscathed because he became nice to his wife.
Just helped her up. The one night stand is from the book, which they changed for the drama.
This part is quite unclear for me. Because at some point of the story, she tells him about what happened between them and that it made him prejudiced towards her. But there is no reason. He just helped a drunk woman...
I'm on ep.32. I am realty torn about this drama. I love the leads but this drama is all over the place!! The romance…
The main couple looks cute on screen but the love story has plot holes. Why he started to be caring for her so fast after his younger brother died? What made him prejudiced towards her? They got close just by helping kids? Why he refused to see her when he was in jail? How come they suddenly became bf gf overnight? Why he is keeping her in the dark? There is not enough sparkle between them. It's not bad but not great.
It is almost the end of the drama. I hope they will make a superb ending to save the day.
I am quite certain neither of the twin brother killed anyone but its a third party from that fake church where…
Some murders happened after the childhood and the time of the church. One of the twins must be a serial killer. Or none of them... If both have personality disorder...
I am glad the plot is taking a better pace since ep 30. Time for the showdown. I disliked the whole arc of narration when Lei YuZheng is in the gutter. They had to fill the drama with insufferable speeches drippling with morals and values like: be good, be nice, be caring, be supportive, be understanding, be filial... Blabla bla. Let's see some vengeance now.
okay..i just wondered, in the last scene in ep of 32 why LYZ invited his ex GF for a dinner??he did it for a purpose…
For me he brought her at his home because it was a way to put them both in security in a place he knows. Then he would try to investigate them.
As for inviting her for dinner and giving her flowers, I believe he is going to ask her to help him with some matter. I am saying this I did not watched beyond ep 32.
I guess love and hate have a fine line? She intrigues him? She defies the prejudices he had about her? You know…
I was just saying he went to easy with her. Maybe what happened between them one year ago shaked the foundations of his faithfulness he had for his younger brother. I had the feeling like he thought '' Why I would not woo her''.
I guess love and hate have a fine line? She intrigues him? She defies the prejudices he had about her? You know…
She made the decision by herfeslf. Nobody forced her. The mum only exposed the situation and why she does not want her son ending up with her. She made a suggestion Xiaosu could have accepted or rejected. Xiaosu still bears the responsibility of her own choice. He should have make her suffer longer.
In addition to what @SCPY wrote, I think the first clue came during their run-in at the airport. That was the…
If he was so prejudiced against her, he should have told his brother the whole story of one year before and make him break up with her. He chose not to reveal the past because his brother liker her so much. Then he asked her to truly love his younger brother in return. So for him, the past was forgettable and had to be forgotten. But she dumped the brother and caused him to meet his terrible demise. This was ground for hate.
For me it was illogic for her to fight for the apartment but maybe she wanted to pay for her "mistake". So they were in a challenge but why he became so soft so fast? I would have understood if he slowly became close to her and cared for her like she is a little sister. Because she chose to live with the souvenir of her dead boyfriend (his "younger brother"). But instead he became overly caring and physical with her, patting her or carrying her... I thought it was mishandled. I am glad their relationship becomes more friendly-like (from her side) after some a few more eps.
Until ep 7 the story is quite consistent and interesting. The acting of the lead actors is good. But ep 8 the story is moving too fast. How can the ML be so caring for her out of the blue. It is like there are missing parts.
The guy is a total manipulator. Why he changed his phone number? The only reason I see is that he wanted Na Bi…
I agree it takes two to tango. Surely she sent him signals voluntarily and non voluntarily because she likes him. But I wanted to emphasize that the guy is manipulating her by taking advantage of her weakness and infatuation with him. He know how she would react and makes the best of it. For me Na Bi is following her heart (and body) and she is the most at risk considering her past love life and the profile of Jae Eon.
I see the writers are trying to spin this into a playboy suddenly having a heart like okay lol He's manipulative…
The guy is a total manipulator. Why he changed his phone number? The only reason I see is that he wanted Na Bi to be unable to call him so she would go see him or he would wait and then go see her. And the way he did it: sneakily touched her hair from behind when they already "broke up" their special relationship. The guy knows exactly how to deal with her.
I loved the ending to episode 5. I hope with this, Nabi realizes her relationships don't define her and that it's…
I guess it's not easy for them to do their coming out. They have to admit they are lesbian (or bi) and they also have to make it known. If one of the young woman was openly lesbian (or bi), I think it would be easier for them to acknowledge their feelings. I am curious to see how they will do it. Or not.
Just finished 5... i love and hate PJE, but hiz trying to change. I like the fact that his helping na bi find…
It's just a plan to get back closer to her. Have you noticed how he behaved after he managed to become her assistan? Especially how they were "working" together?
