Though I kinda wished the ending court scene could've been done better. It was a bit bland imo.
I know what you mean. It felt rushed to me, after multiple episodes of their evil conduct, it wrapped up the story arc of the two villains in a rather superficial and unconvincing way.

I enjoyed this series, 8.0 seems fair. Wrap it up in 11 episodes instead of stretching the story to hit an arbitrary 12 or 16, what a concept. And no next episode previews: while the ultimate ending never seemed in doubt, it kept me in suspense as to what would happen next.

Over the top villainy and dirty tricks ? Oh, yes. I laughed at Seo Min Jung collapsing to the floor in despair in Episode 7 (?), she so reminded me of the Wicked Witch of the West in Oz, "I'm melting ! Melting ! Oh, what a world !" The political oratory soon got tiresome, I fast forwarded through the speeches.

Two strong FL's, the casting was good throughout. And I liked Lee Kyung Young as political henchman Carl Yoon, he seems to play the same character in every drama but he's always a force. This series was my first exposure to Kim Hee Ae, what an elegant woman ! I quite look forward to seeing her again in the sequel.

One final thought, what was up with all the smoking ?! It seemed like they were trying to turn back the clock to 1940's-1960's cool, before it got out that the habit was killing people.

Just finished this series and liked it, although it was somewhat disjointed. And a few things were left unexplained. I still don't understand why Santa wouldn't speak and what his backstory was. Feels the door was purposely left open for a sequel.

Lee Young Ae was great as weary eccentric Inspector Koo, as was Kim Hye Joon as the psychotic K. Initially her story reminded me a bit of the old Vincent Price movie "Theater of Blood" (1973) where he plays a hack Shakespearean actor who murders his critics in ways that match the deaths in Shakespeare's plays. But once she accidently killed her aunt, she kind of went off the rails.

And some of the overly elaborate murder schemes stretched credibility to the breaking point. As did the police apparently clueless throughout despite the mounting body count, and the fact that the investigation team had overwhelming evidence of K's guilt yet took everything onto themselves instead of reporting it. I guess the need to also take down Chief Yong played into it.

Season 1 was so much better.
That's also my take. I was wondering, "Do I remember Season 1 as being so good in comparison or was I influenced by the first show being a relative novelty ?" But it seems truly not up to the same level. My standard for an excellent k-drama is that I'm always eager to watch the next episode. With TD2, it's more like "Umm okay, what else is on ?"

Last year, I totally binged Season 1 and got super hyped for Season 2. Watched the first two eps right away, but…
I'm halfway through, but Season 2 isn't as appealing to me as Season 1 either. Of course, a series like this depends upon the strength of the individual stories (generally 2 episodes per story). So if you hit a dud, you have to sit through two episodes of it. I don't know, I've found at least two of the stories to be lame or unconvincing even by Taxi Driver standards, the acting was so over the top that their marks would be fools to be convinced. And the comedy with the two goofy technical assistant guys falls flat. Oddly, the side story with Shin Jae Ha is what may get me to the finish line.

I'm a fan of legal dramas and Diary of a Prosecutor did not disappoint. It's a solid 9.0 for me. So well written and acted. Loved the humor, slyly done throughout and never fell to the level of slapstick. As with any of these series of an episodic nature, some of the cases and their characters were more interesting than others, but the interest level rarely dropped off for me.

imagine watching this after watching crash course in romance..😨😨😂😂
LOL, Jeon Do Yeon apparently will leap directly from sweet and lovable to contract killer. But I'm on board with it !

I get to hear Lee Kyun Sun's majestic deep voice, good enough for me
Right. That was a highlight for me in the final episode of My Mister, the FL hadn't seen the Lee Kyun Sun character in a long time, but she heard that marvelous voice all the across a crowded restaurant and coming from outside on the patio. And homed in on it like a radar signal.

I've lost the thread with Part 2. I don't like Netflix cutting a series in half like this, it feels very disjointed to me. I remember most of Part 1, but there's too many character names and details I've forgotten. So if you resumed just like you'd watched Episode 8 last week, hats off to you.

I find it hard to recall specific Josean dramas that stand out from the pack even though I enjoyed them at the time. No matter how well done, the usual court intrigue. This one came at it from a fresh angle and I'll remember it. Kim Hye Soon was riveting, I could hardly tear my eyes off her long enough to read the subtitles. What a masterful performance.

I quite enjoyed this drama, a solid 9.0 for me. Attractive and very appealing leads, a coherent well-plotted story for the most part, enough villainy to keep things interesting, another fairly damning picture of S. Korea's rat race of an education system as well as the impersonal cruelty of social media. The Korean mastery of blending drama, romance, comedy and packaging it with top production values always satisfies.

LOL, I just couldn't get into this one on account of John Arcilla. Not that he's a bad actor by any means. I couldn't get past always seeing him as FPJ's comically villainous Renato Hipolito.

Absolutely loved the drama and the ending was well executed! just the real mom part a bit annoying, other than…
I concur about the real mom. It really added nothing to this drama. Clearly an obnoxious person and looking to grift off the pretense of actually caring for her daughter. Which Hae-e knew from overhearing her try to hit Mr. Choi up for money. So when Hae-e dropped the bombshell that she'd leave for Japan to live with her mom, I was like "WTF ?". Then okay, she must be doing it to expose Mom as a fraud. But in the final episode when Hae-e actually seemed serious about it and persisted to the extent of causing a huge rift in her loving family, it was a jarring plot element which detracted from an otherwise well-crafted story.

There was a newscast in Episode 15 after Mr Ji died. It mentioned "the metal ball attacks injured or killed at…
She was mentioned, but just in passing. To paraphrase, "at least that stalker girl isn't around now". But you're right, it should have been a prominent part of the police investigation. And at Hee Jae's hearing, the judge refused to consider the cops referencing another killing because it wasn't part of the warrant. But who's killing ? The stalker girl or the punk who was thrown off the building ? Definitely a hole in the plot, although not a major one.

wait who?
She was in the academy, pestering the hell out of the ML. An episode or two later she was shown walking down a sidewalk texting or doing something on her phone, suddenly whack ! She went down like a deer in hunting season, a steel ball was shown rolling away.

It's been a while since I enjoyed a drama this much
I really like it too. Rom-com is not generally my cup of tea but there's more to this series than just "romance-u". Enough drama and nasty people in the mix to hold my interest. The casting is near perfect too. I suppose Jeon Do Yeon is on the cusp of being too old for her role but she is so vivacious and likeable, who even cares ?

wait who?
The aggressive girl who barged her way into Choi's apartment and then was photographed being put into a taxi , causing some paparazzi trouble. An episode or two later she was gunned down by the steel ball shooter. I'm with rkrivesthighs on this, how did she just drop off the radar ? One casual mention of her later to the effect of "at least the stalker isn't bothering us anymore". She may yet surface as part of the police investigation, the cops mentioned a related murder. But whether it was her or the obnoxious kid who was thrown off the building, don't know yet (I'm at episode 11)
