This has to be one of the best dramas I’ve ever watched and as someone who’s watched about 100, that’s a lot coming from me lmao. The portrayal of mental illness, to the concept of beauty standards, to the portrayal bullying, to the cinematography, to the plot twists!! It was so good. My only complaint is how short it was. Because it’s only 20 min and 13 Episodes , the story isn’t able to truly flesh out these complex characters. But with the time given they did a great job. This is truly a gem , and the message was beautiful. I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who wants a quick but impactful watch!!!

I think you’re looking at this too literally, duh the fl isn’t the ugliest but she was supposed to be portrayed as such. I think the dramatics of the characters really added to the story and the message!!

I love how they framed Min Woo as a character who’s very hostile to young woo. It’s very realistic that not everyone is quick to accept and be comfortable with someone with a disability (although it is wrong to have these prejudices )

It’s such a good drama omg

I’m so happy that when she brought up the person who created the term Asperger’s they talked about how he separated autistic children and discarded those who he saw as worthless. So many ppl quote him without knowing that he was horrible. No matter how functioning you are with a disability, you deserve the right to live and be happy. That part made me tear up.

LITERALLY THIS!!! Episode 4 should’ve been the changing point! Where they slowly start to warm up to eachother again. I found the kids pointless cuz it didn’t offer much development

I agree ghosting for a year is WILD, but unpacking and unlearning unhealthy habits and ideas is rlly hard. I don’t think it was unrealistic for Ji Woo to not immediately welcome Seo Jun back. Like I actually believe him being scared to love Seo Jun again was a good addition to the story

I think the intention was to show that Ji Woo had changed or atleast realized his actions were hurting him. The thing is we never TRULY see that. We can only assume and hope that’s the case. I feel like for the meaning of the drama to be “accept a person the way he is,” would be so shallow and easy. But at the same time that’s what appears to be seen. I agree Ji Woo hurting Seo Jun and then not developing got redundant. But the core ideas were so goood

Like there is never a scene where the intimacy seems uncomfortable or forced, or non consensual. It feels relaxed and safe. I think many dramas aside from BL can lack that, and that what makes it stand out!

Nah I agree completely. I feel like sometime through the middle of the drama there wasn’t really much development when it comes to rekindling, it was just learning more and more about Ji Woos trauma with no solution or reflection. So it was just pain and more pain lmao. It’s hard to sympathize with Ji Woo becuz he’s never dove into more (kind of). Like angst without developing rekindlment is just not fun lol

I just can’t get over how good Ji woos character could’ve been. I related so hard to his insecurities, his confusion and overthinking. And overall loss of self. His character was one of the most realistic and relatable ones I’ve ever seen. He ended up hurting Seo Jun becuz of his low self esteem and even admits that. But instead of fleshing this out, letting him redeem himself, showing growth and understanding and knowing it’ll take time to love Seo Jun and himself comfortably, they just don’t dive into that. That’s like the only flaw of the drama, not allowing these characters to show growth with their established trauma. Like that wouldve been so good!!!!

the drama in terms of acting, cinematography, word choice etc was amazing. And I love their dynamic. But god would it have been better if Ji Woo had more self reflection. I actually don’t think them getting together at the end was unrealistic. I think that what it took to get to that point was the unrealistic part. The angst wasn’t bad, but you can’t just have angst with little to no reflection or redemption. It feels rushed becuz Jiwoo and Seo Jun are these pained, multi faceted characters who are so well carved out. And to reduce their trauma and insecurities to simple miscommunication is what brings the drama down. Everything was so good but the fact we never see them deconstruct and fully understand their trauma. So the viewers are left empty becuz we were given so much but left with so little. Anyways I still thoroughly enjoyed it and would still recommmend it!!
