Zhao Lusi / TCM, /educational / funny / deep
I watched because of Zhao Lusi. That was my first modern drama of her and my first modern C Drama overall. The Story : I liked the journey of Sun Tou Tou, the relationship between the main characters, the educational part of the drama and, because I am working in the "western medicine", it was very interesting for me to find out more about TCM ( traditional Chinese medicine ) . Truly fascinating, sometimes. Bonus, Corona time in Wuhan.
It was more educational, but with romantic, funny and deep parts too.
Acting/Cast : Zhao Lusi very good, als always. I think modern dramas aren't as challenging for her, because she can't fully unfold all her talent. But she did a good job by portraying Tou Tou.
All the cast did a goof job, and congratulation for Luo Yi Zhou for his first drama.
I liked the music, overall, and I mention specially the songs from Luo Yi Zhou ( ML ) an Yan An- it's nice when the actors sing for their own dramas , and Liu Yu Ning.
I did rewatched already, and I understand more by the second watch.
I liked how they used the 24 traditional Chinese solar terms : throughout the drama, short presentations of the 24 periods appear, with their names and health tips to harmonize the body with seasonal energies, especially regarding diet.
I appreciate that the actors' voices were used , not a dubbing with other voices.
From the cast, I recognized Li Guang Fu , the grandpa, as the master Sun (Si Miao) from The long Ballad, and Zhao Zi Qi ,Cheng Ying, as Madam Chun Yu from Love like the galaxy.
Overall, I found the drama a little bit underrated , but it's also about taste and preferences.
( this was my first review. I hope my English was ok :) )

Simply Magic
I watched initially for Zhao Lusi ( she is my favorite Chinese actress ) and because I like fantasy/ historical/costume dramas more than modern ones. They are more challenging for actors and not everyone can act in these conditions and circumstances that well, not only to express all art of feeling, but movement too ( fly, fight, dance) wearing costumes and looking elegant at the same time, etc. In this dramas the actors can unfold and show all their talents .I found the story interesting and captivating, with dramatic twists and turns, suspense, a rollercoaster of emotions, from laughter to tears, but a happy ending for all. After Love Like the Galaxy and Who Rules the World, it took me a long time until I find another drama with the same impact. Now I founded.
Acting/Cast : Zhao Lusi , as always, amazing. She was portraying both characters, the childish, kind and lovely A Yin and the powerful and majestic Feng Yin. It was first time to see Wang An Yu acting , and I was impressed. Lusi hat good chemistry with all her costars, but I can say, Wang An Yu is now my favorite. He seems to be a warm, authentic and natural person . They matched very good together and their chemistry was amazing. I saw many BTS with them and I saw their interactions after the show, inclusive at the Tencent Video All Star Night 2023 and 2025, and I was impressed from his warm and caring art toward Lusi, especially now, after all she did have to endure.
I liked the acting of all of them, inclusive the villains ( the devil God was so cool ) , the friendship between the 4 leads ( the second leads too ) and the Tree life Stone, the relationship between the devil God and Xu Yan , Bibo and the Dragon, and all of the Daze Mountains too.
I also liked to see actors from other Lusi's dramas again, especially those who played Hong Yi ( Li Yun Rui ) and Lin Mo (Wang Zi Rui) from Love Like the Galaxy, Xiu Yan / Ao Ge ( He Kai Lang- very good to see him more and in a better character ) , Qing Yi ( Xu Ling Chen ) and the Dragon from Who Rules the World , and Xian Shan and Xian Zhu from A Female Student Arrives at the Imperial College. Feng Yun ( Xue Jia Ning ) will be in Love's Ambition with Lusi too, and I have read , that she visited her in the hospital.
A big like that the Main Leads were dubbing their characters themselves.
The music was magic, both the songs and the instrumental , and it was a very good choice for the opening and ending songs to be sung from the 2 Main Leads, Lusi and An Yu . They have both beautiful and warm voices.
I am rewatching now, and I will rewatch for sure in the future again.
Overall, it was a world full of emotions and magic and beauty ( from sceneries, costumes, accessories and hairstyles, to elegant movements, amazing fighting scenes and visual effects ), and a story about true love, friendship, sacrifice, good and evil, and fortunately with a happy ending for all, inclusive the devil God. Just one thing I missed : Feng Yin and Yuan Qi deserved a hug at the end, and we too.
