I too wished she would have gone to the present damn it
It was enjoyable but the writer really seemed to gloss over/forget stuff they had written into the story before.
It felt like the writer often messed with the phone as part of the storyline. We already know that it can charge, fix itself, and have wi-fi at the Buddhist Temple, so I don't understand why she acts like once it's broken ,it's broken. Plus she didn't even need her phone to travel back to the present, the divine just made her go in a balls of light and boom she's in the present. I assume she has no family, real friends, and is an orphan in the present because family is culturally important. (Writer seemed vague with a lot of her story). Like a few quick flashbacks would have helped. If Pat (from past) is now Pete in present (incarnation? Pat's future family member that looks alike?) Then would a past Prae or someone similar to her exist? I have so many questions for the writer LOL
I hope we get a special episode that brings them to the present.
I can't find it on Novel Updates or other places where people translate to English and other languages. Maybe if we get enough fans to fansubbed the novel.
LOL yeah from that preview. I was like when does she have time to master the English language then again maybe she learned it in The Philippines. I was surprised she actually went there and didn't go to another city in Korea pretending to be in Philippines.
They needed to stay within the 40 episode limit (they could have edited things better for the extras to be included in those 40).
They cut those extra Nana Jingke scenes and added an unnecessary plot of grandpa's son and grandsons (like no one did DNA testing just to confirm, they accepted it because of the story they told?), a plot that should have happened episodes ago. We still had some loose plot points and things glossed over and scenes like the last scene, there was no explanation other than FL is at the beach with a group of girls (are they part of Yian's foundation or is it theater for kids out at the beach or FL decided to randomly go to the beach by herself and meets four little girls LOL).
They could have spin-off Nana's story and had Yijin as a supporting character. It could have easily been a Gen MZ empowerment story on it's own like Nana being a woman in a male dominated research job while dealing with the ups and downs of relationship + FL dealing with power harassments and issues in her theater while managing to work things out with her bf or if she marries, dealing with married life. Supporting character Zhou Zhou dealing with stuff at work (plenty to include) and Jingke also having to deal with stuff he is forced by his parents and working things out between parents and Nana (like there's a lot that could be done with their story). We can include minor side characters that Nana, Jingke, Yijin, and Zhou help or whatever or just make a Nana Jingke story since there's a lot to still deal with between research and Jingke's family.
Ep 1 - A bit of a disconcerting start but precisely because of this a one to watch. The most striking is the difference…
Things that happened in those 12 years apart and not having that closure seems to have shaped them into who they are now. There's a mystery of what happened and we will find out. I'm curious how long Aki has dated that woman. Like did they kiss, have sex or is it just two "busy" people not wanting to be lonely and hanging out sometimes LOL Because the body language and the way they talked to each other felt like they were in some arranged contract for hire type couple LOL They didn't give off couple dating just two standoff-ish and indifferent strangers talking surface level.
KSR always blaming everyone but herself. LOL Had she not switched the babies, her child would be alive. Sang Chul is not the most reliable person, I mean he was so easy to cheat on his wife. His priorities are himself, money, sex, and food. I'm surprised she hasn't tried to seduce Wang Senior LOL might as well keep it in the family LMAO
