This method was also tried in loves ambition because main couple was weak owing to the plot but since it was zhao lusi the second couple couldn't suceed. Also chinese fans unlike before are slowly catching up with everything

Honestly no body has complaints with fcy screentime , because every single scene of hers is relevant to story, people have a problem with the second couples plot because so far whatever of them that was added was apparently no there in the novel. Many felt their scenes were repetitive. Their romance is irrelevant to the storyline and many found it uncomfortable.
About chinese audience they liked second couple initially but now they are tired of them and what they are saying is instead of putting in the relevant part of the story like how xz saved ningning, the whole scenario felt compressed and the second couple scenes where over exaggerated no body had complaints about fcy . Infact discussion was about people skipping through second lead scenes and not fcy scenes, i dont know how this rumour came
Not every drama is like my journey to you and fated hearts were second leads are preferred more. Here the main leads are preferred more owing to their insane chemistry

Exactly, i thing they should have shown more of xie zheng and syq confrontation scene , xz and ning ning scenes and more of xie zheng missing chang yu scenes instead of so much second leads scenes because compared to other dramas second leads here are not at all interesting.
