If this drama was about a 38yr old woman and a 24 yr old man the age gap would be centre stage and the focus of the drama. It would not be essentially ignored.
Why? Because older men are seen as deserving of younger women. Its seen as normal and desirable when really it just means a woman entering a relationship where the longer it goes on the more the burden will be on her. The reverse is not true.
The point isn't that we are still where women are forced or that this woman is somehow indirectly pressured, its rather, that by portraying her as actively pursuing her older male mentor, its idealising an old fashioned out dated social norm. Without even showing her as weighing up what it might mean for her.
