its fascinating in such a short drama with such a cute couple with decent chemistry and a friends to lovers plot that they could cram in so much annoying miscommunication noble idiocy and misunderstandings, make a 2ML and 2FL really unlikeable for very different reasons and drag out the story. Despite this the leads still remained likeable you wanted to root for them but damn.

So Ep 35 after 18 Firstly we got to see, finally, some back story of arch villian Wanning. It really was aqful to see what happened to her and yes I felt such sympathy raped repeatedly we assume and miscarrying aborting child(ren) living with sheep FFS anyone would snap and to think the emperor treats her as a political foe and general pain in the ass, as she pointed out herself noone could repay her for what she endured for the sake of all tbeir peace but What really ruined it for me was that earlier the physician who diagnosed her pregnancy was taken to be killed I assume given his pleading and terrified cries to spare his life and it is revealed he has a wife and son. When this news is imparted to our OTP that the rumour is Wanning "got rid" of a physician and is rumoured to be pregnant the FL just smirks. Wanning isn't preggers the FL has secretly given her a fake pregnancy pill which is quite cruel tbh given what we just saw about Wanning. She delightedly tricks the ML that she is pregnant too and we are treated to some cute jealousy before she satisfyingly reveals her ruse and they have a tender moment. The next scene where I paused is Wannings maid informing her the physicians wife and son have also been taken care of!
That's it so now our FL has caused the death of an innocent family and apparently the champion of the people who values every life couldn't give a toss. What is going on here. How is she better than any of the others.
I cant care about FL anymore after this. She may not have guessed that Wanning would do it but given her reaction on hearing about it and given the physician knew before he told her it was gonna happen. I think FL did know and didn't care.
If this is her hardening becoming cruel as a result of her trauma how is she any different to the other mean FCs. What I just can't get past a character I loved so much having such an unnecessary (and that's the most frustrating part so stupid) shift in behaviour and personality however brief without it being addressed in some way.

I dont like watching these real life age gap dramas between leads. Like if a drama actual contained a child adult romance like a 28 yr old full on kissing or sleeping with a 13yr old and people complained.
