What a strange coincidence. I am from Brooklyn as well. I have never been to Jamaica but I really want to go someday. Probably for my future honeymoon lol. I just chose Tampopo because I like dandelions. I haven't gotten around to listing favorites because I just haven't bothered. I have a weird heritage in that my grandma is Jamaican but my dad was born in England. And my mom is from Belize. So that makes me Jamaican-British-Belizean? lol

I believe it was Masami Nagasawa. Whichever one played the childhood friend. I haven't seen it in a while so my memory is fuzzy.

I'm in the US. I'm only half as well but I was raised by my grandma who is Jamaican so I'm familiar with a lot of Jamaican culture like the food, accents, people. As for recommendations it really depends on what you like in a drama.

Well, watched the first one. It certainly was interesting, but I can't say I was blown away. There are things we all have seen in high school dramas before. The first episode is very similar to Minna Esper Dayo. It'll be interesting to see how this one turns out. And someone explain why a 31 year old is playing a high school student?!

I also think he had some chemistry with the chick from Dragon Zakura (I forget her name).

This drama reminds me so much of Soratobu Kouhoushitsu. Or should I say the other way around since this one came first. Anyhow, they both have the same feel.

I'm watching quite a few. I'm watching a few of the currently airing Japanese dramas like Summer Nude and Kamen Teacher. A couple I picked up but I'm not sure if I will continue, like Frenemies. I just finished watching Risou no Musuko and Detarame Hero. I'm thinking of starting an older one since all of the ones I'm watching are currently airing and only have one episode a week...

I honestly can't say I ship anyone with him because his character doesn't seem to have any chemistry with any of the women...If I absolutely had to choose I guess I would say Karina.
