2nd comment - This is covered by the Original poster and the responder that was originally defending FL. No one is disputing people can breakup when they want. Also Sex has nothing to do with it if the FL was the ML I would be saying the exact same thing.
The thing that is being argued was that the FL only started saying she wanted to Breakup AFTER she had already emotionally cheated. That is what was being discussed. Even the commenter who was for the FL even agreed.
And I went further to point out (Yes anyone can breakup anytime no matter how vile they do it) I pointed out that just because she was in a stale relationship that neither worked on, she gets that spark, connection etc with the pharmacist, it was after she knows she has a guy lined up is when she breaks up with him. In the comments from OP and the 1st responder they clearly state she even lies about the fact their is another guy when her BF asks her.
So the fact she doesn't work on her relationships I pointed out that in a few years when this new relationship goes the same way she will do exactly the same thing.
So the show is a slice of life showing us people are grey and do horrible things even to people that they once loved and even lie to themselves to justify their actions.
So if all what was said in the above comments is correct, there is really no happy ending,

So far I'm 4 episodes in and loving it, I can already tell the Ex will be annoying "That's how it is" after cheating for a year and just announcing she's marrying someone else WTF! Then sends a wedding invite the next day, freaking cold-hearted. I am sorry but what ever BS excuse she had is just that BS.
I've seen people comparing it to other shows but I've only watched one "When the Weather Is Fine" And one of @Jay Noona's lists above "That winter the wind blows".
I would add "My Love Eun Dong (2015)" although it's not tagged slow burn I feel it fits.
It's really good, not much to it other than the romance. No annoying love triangles, breakups, insane MILs, Ex's, etc etc I mean it's kind of unrealistic, It might happen like that rarely lol But this is a good palate cleanser from cheating dramas, unnecessary drama, nuts inlaws, etc.
I really enjoyed this show I gave it 8.5/10 but I am re-watching and as it's maybe 6 months since my first watch I am noticing things that I missed or ignored the first time.
- I'm not even 20 minutes in and either FL or another character has on at least 4 occasions, put down her BF, i'e between my BF and Shi Yan I choose Shi Yan, Or the Editor saying good girl for abandoning her BF on his birthday etc etc. So Picking up all that in less than 20 minutes I am not all surprised that her BF was cheating, to be honest. ** Don't get me wrong cheating characters get my nerves frayed** But watching again I get why the character did, she prioritizes her career and doesn't give him time, which is exactly what women complain about when men are at work lol Anyway he should have discussed it and broke up. - She should have been upfront and made sure any guy she dates that he knows that he is not her priority her career is, at least with ML he has his super busy CEO job so he gets it and will have little time for her as well, so they're suited.
In the 6 months since watching this, I have come across multiple dramas or movies either K or Cdrama where the lead (all FL haven't found one with ML yet) has either emotionally cheated and then broken up with BF to be with ML due, to work and the relationships has grown stale. Or they even cheated physically for the same reasons.
And the comments are actually like well the relationship was stale, she fell in love, etc but a few have pointed out that if the roles were reversed the ML would get roasted, and rightly so for his actions.
So if Shu Yi's ex was the lead, he isn't getting emotional support, constantly getting abandoned by his GF, who doesn't see him as a priority, etc goes and cheats and is rightly called a scumbag.
Still, I come across quite a few shows or movies where the FL is in a similar situation or even better where it is simply the spark has gone. Neither person has put in the effort to save the relationship or keep it fresh, and instead of trying the FL just either straight our cheats or emotionally cheats and lines up her next BF before dumping the BF.
But because these are written/directed as romances etc and shown differently compared to the scumbag Male that cheats on his hard-working GF/wife, they are highly rated and oh it's a shame she was in the wrong relationship, she was trapped, etc.
So I have concluded that depending on how these characters are portrayed then they are more hated or less or even loved by some fans. The target audience is mostly women so I get why most of the ones (All that I have come across) with the cheating lead are female, so the makers are targeting their audience. I doubt one with the ML cheating because his relationship was a bit stale would get good ratings somehow.
I can't stand cheats or the leads being cheats, but I just had to moan about the difference in how differently treated characters are who have done the same thing but just the sex is different and one is the lead and one is the cheating ex of the lead.

The reason I said above was because you mentioned in your original post he said he regretted the relationship which gave her trauma or something about her father even though ML didn't mean it but she ends it because of it, and he explains it to her during the wedding day, I would assume knowing your 1st love was ended due to a misunderstanding etc would cause regret.
Obviously I will have to watch it to make a final decision.

***I have to say I have not watched this yet so commenting due to what I have read*** Yep I have noticed this double standard myself lol It doesn't help that the film/drama makers make the drama's in different way's to show the infidelity be it physical or emotional differently whether the lead cheating is Male or Female the male it is always scum/dirty etc and the female it's like a love story she had no choice the relationships was stagnant she felt trapped etc.
I agree with @mjcsfla1 that people have the right to leave a relationship, but that wasn't your issue it was the fact she basically cheated (just not physically), which if going by people on here is just as bad and to be fair it almost is. Like you said when she wants to break up she lies about there no-one else when there is, if she didn't think it was wrong why the need to lie. Basically it's at the bare minimum morally grey, and you could call it monkey branching (I believe is the term) she dumps him when she has her next boyfriend lined up, she literally ends up with the guy in question so it was definitely emotionally cheating and dubious morals.
Also as I haven't watched it yet, I'm assuming her relationship is just normal then as they haven't worked on it it's become same same, no spark etc So neither has worked on the relationship and she has preferred to just move on. You would assume they were in love together when they started dating and they just never kept the spark in the relationship, it bugs me when instead of trying to work on the relationship that you must have craved at some point, your lazy and because of that spark of something new and exciting why bother working on what you have when you can start new, typical explanation why people cheat in real life, load of Bullsh*t
What I take from these type of plotlines when they end up together is it isn't a happy ending , it's a tainted happy ending (temporary) as the FL in this one is lazy and as long as she continues the way she lives in a few years she will be in the exact same situation with the pharmacist as she was with her EX she will feel trapped and suffocated because she doesn't communicate and work on her relationships, she would rather get excitement elsewhere and chase the new thrills. So happy for now ending if extremely morally grey.
So I guess this is a good show to show real-life how people are, it's not really a nice show even though it's packaged as a romance, it's not that kind it just life as it's listed.
I'll probably try it one day because I like the FL actress.
I just, watched the 1st episode, and I don't get why after 15 years and getting divorced the FL's mother hadn't dealt with the house and got it in her name.
Even before the flashback in Ep 2 of ML and his Ex camping you just know it was because she was cheating, Asian drama what else could it be I guess.
It doesn't just mean you weren't found guilty in a court of law, which doesn't mean you were innocent. Plenty of guilty people are found innocent due to loopholes, money, power, witness tampering, police not following procedures, and probably 100 things I can't think of. Of course, a few innocent people are also wrongly convicted as well probably significantly less than the other way around.

So what you said is incorrect - He was found innocent or not guilty in court for whatever reason that may have been, But that does NOT mean he was innocent of the crime he was accused of.

Up to the part I'm up to there's been no information to genuinely make a decision to be fair. I know she has a younger sister that in the flashbacks seem to be about 2-4 years gap, and she has split personality thinking she's her sister half the day.
Other than that I can make a guess something happened to her sister at 28 which would have been 4 years earlier when the break-up occurred, the sister can't be 28 now if alive because Eun-ho is 37 and those girls were maximum 5 years apart. Am sure the more we see we will change our ideas.
