While I don't rule out the masked man being related to the Zhuangs, for now I am assuming he is not working with the PM. My impression is the PM is very cautious and has no appetite for bold moves that could separate his shoulders from his head. In this story they should be a powerful noble family that are political rivals with the Zhuangs. Maybe he is has a deal with Empress Zhuang to help her son ascend as long as he becomes the next PM. But tbh he doesn't need her, once the emperor dies she is just a weak woman with no real power of her own. Or maybe he wants the throne for himself. While this is a fictional dynasty, in history, the Murong clan is an aristocratic family that had once ruled over their own kingdom. In fact I believe in real history there is a Xianbei emperor by the name of Murong Yao. As for who poisoned JS, its already shown that the masked man has the antidote so obviously they lied when they said its coming from the wedding procession. At this point, I am just going to be simplistic about it and assume that its the masked man to avoid going down the path of overly convoluted speculation. Its easier to consider other possible scenarios after we get more facts.

Well according to the doctor, he is badly poisoned and he did obey the masked man's initial order to kill the love of his life. Seems to me that is being controlled. He is probably just hoarding the antidote, ie. taking less of it than he should. This suggests he means to try to break free and is probably storing it to use it at that time.

I think it’s the masked person. His brother is just trying to get rid of his military power and should be unaware of his plotting with Susha. I think both the masked man and Jingshi have agreed to help each other ascend the throne in their respective countries. But after that Jingshi will be his vassal unless he can kick the poison.

The masked man is the one demanding Jingshi and Weiran kill FYX - likely bc she discovered his identity and can expose him as a traitor. In the latest episode Jingshi already pushed back against killing her again, pointing out that his plotting will soon be revealed so he doesn’t need to silence her anymore. Weiran went to pick up the antidote but it’s clear that Jingshi has been hoarding it instead of using it so clearly he plans to turn against the masked man as well.
