Title The Wolf
Im sorry but wtf did they do to Darren Wang's skin tone like tf does he look like he spent the last 5 years in…
OMG it is one of the best things about this drama - they didn't paint every dude pasty white...

I am also watching the Wolf but am avoiding the thread. There are too many spoilers.
Royal Nirvana was indeed depressing but after watching it in its entirety, I better understand it and funnily don't find it as dark. I loved your short review on it btw. While it is emotionally one of the heaviest dramas I have ever watched, it also has some of the best, most romantic scenes and lines I have ever come across.
The issue that I am struggling with with the Wolf is there are some borderline consent issues with some of the scenes - it may be realistic for those times but I am so not use to watching that kind of stuff that I am not sure if I should be bothered or how much.
I always love chatting with other users and remember and enjoyed our chats on RN. Don't be silent, jump in.

Ah, ok... maybe that is why it was cut. Yeah that kind of stuff is disturbing, actors shouldn't have to do scenes that make them uncomfortable.

Yeah I am sure the whole Xiao Zhan controversy didn't help either but from what I have seen of the actual content so far, I think there were definitely some legitimate reasons to review it carefully as well. I am actually surprised some of the scenes made it out. No wonder they dropped it all at once - best not to risk it getting pulled mid-way.

Actually its more fun to watch when they release it slowly and the thread is more fun too because everyone is more or less in the same place no one can really spoil the ending well before everyone else has watched. I don't need to wait for subs but I am watching it slowly I am not a binger. I think they released this all at once to avoid the censors pulling it halfway.

Title The Wolf
I waited for years I don't even remember why I liked the trailer. After 3 episodes I don't care, the girl wanted…
I actually really didn't like the first 3 episodes either. It wasn't just bad CGI, both Li Qin and Wang Dalu were overacting and not in character. There were so many cringe moments. Wang Dalu is not a smiley person so those fake beatific beams were just over the top. But from 4 onwards its like watching a different drama so at least pick up one more before dumping it.

Yeah me too. But I have to say it is a lot darker than I expected. I am now totally not shocked it got stuck at the censors for so long.

Its quite dark - I like dark dramas and characters generally but they can be disturbing and have to be watched in small doses. I had to pause after 15 last night- I was vaguely disturbed and just didn't feel like continuing 16 and quit mid-way. I probably won't pick it up again until the weekend.

I doubt it would make a difference. When all three of them share the screen I can only see Bo wang and Zhaising.... I am kind of like... huh? Ji who??? They have too much screen presence together its hard to compete with that kind of chemistry. But he is doing quite well on his own, I like the scruffy less pretty look.

Title The Wolf
Chemistry is such a powerful, intangible x-factor that cannot be quantified or compelled. Idk why but practically every scene between Bo wang and Zhaixing is just electric. But there is just nothing, nada that makes me sit up between Ji Chong and Zhaixing. Nothing wrong with the acting, its just that x-factor.
