WXY has a lot of potential and his original lines are beautiful - his voice, the emphasis and intonation, the pronunciation. It’s all excellent and c-netizens rave about it. ARP is trying but he is dubbed in everything. It’s just not the same league at all.

Tā only gender neutral in spoken form, it is gender specific in written form. The translator should be able to tell from the Chinese subtitles, where there is written distinction between tā/他(he) and tā/她 (she). But from dialogue alone, as you point out, it is impossible to tell without context.

Documentary is not needed but some basis in fact is nice, esp since it calls itself a coroner drama. There was lots of fan service in the romance dept for sure.

Yeah I think esp recently, Bai Lu has just been doing the same old same old in all her roles. But in One and Only, I felt she really became her character, especially towards the end. WXY can be a terrific villain.

WXY was beyond despicable in it - and he looked like he was enjoying the role as well. I think Bai Lu is a pretty decent (but not great) actress but she was fantastic in her role there as well.

I dropped that at ep 1 but it may be something I try again later.

While I did find the so-called forensics was laughable, to be fair, CSI is also all fake and grossly exaggerated. They just have a lot more budget to make it at least look more credible. There were a lot of kiss scenes - if they added more it would have had to be over corpses which I am not sure is the best idea...🧐

Yes ARP did show a lot of progress here. The drama did mini crash at the end with the final villain was revealed, not solved.
