I don’t have age targets. I am good with any casting that fits the role and the character. I think the rising generation of young actors is a lot better than the generation that is currently aging out (Yang Mi, ZLY etc). Lead roles get paid a lot more than supporting roles so I am sure it’s intensely competitive to land them. But there are young actors that are backed by strong backers that get them pretty early. Usually the ones that start out as child actors have a head start.
There is a better one that shows them as a team. I think it conveys the character setup better. But according to MDL rules, there is no way it will be used.

Yeah China's beauty standard is absurd. But as you point out there are good roles for all kinds of body types.
I also care more about talent than looks but I do think a character has to fit the part. Like I would never cast Guo Qilin in an action oriented role unless it were a spoof.
