Thanks for sharing. I think the drama did a really good job portraying Han Li's feelings for her. To me from their first encounter, everything you described came across palpably even though I didn't read the book or the donghua. Maybe the translation doesn't capture the nuances but I never saw any sister-zone or guilt or pity but temptation and regret.

I already shared my thoughts on TS above. If I am right, he works against Yesha. I think all of the main characters are collateral damage from Haiya massacre years ago and many of them have personal agendas to be revealed. It doesn't have to be one or the other or even necessarily a mole. As for the poison, I was never that concerned about it. This is a detective story not a romance so its there for a reason not to set up a romantic tragedy. I more interested in why Beiming was poisoned than when, where and how he gets cured.

You know the IP better than I but I will observe that Jin Chen has a tall, willowy, long necked body type. Maybe that better fits the part? Sadly I don't think Zhao Qing will ever look like that no matter how much weight she sheds. But to me, she stole the limelight and more power to her for the terrific acting that did that for her.

I don't mind them but when there are limited episodes, sometimes advancing the plot is more important. I suspect they didn't have enough budget to shoot that many action scenes whereas standing around joking costs nothing to shoot.

No but after the latest episodes, I am quite sure TS is NOT a Haiya orphan. His family was wiped out 10 years ago in a fire. He looked like he was at most 10 years old. So he is maybe 20. Haiya was a massacre not a fire and it happened 23 years ago. He is too young to be from Haiya. I think his father was a soldier/general in the Cenfeng army (just like General Huo) and was involved in the Haiya massacre. He probably retired and went to start an escort agency, which is common for retired soldiers to do. I am going to guess Yesha started the fire and killed them all as part of his revenge. TS got away by sheer luck.

This is not a FL led story. It is about a crime solving team led by the ML - it is more like Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty's team dynamic. There is one major case and bunch of smaller cases that tie up to it.

We will have to wait and see. The genocide was definitely planned. That's why Yesha made the statues bleed from the eyes - it is a warning of heaven's retribution on the current administration.
