I am fine with dubbing as long as its better than the original. I think part of the problem here is some of the lines were obviously changed. That's why the lip movement doesn't match at all. I don't think MZY is that good an actor and I suspect her lines are not great BUT I don't think she is so bad that she and the voice dubber are so completely off in so many places.

He also doesn't want Zaiye to think he now rules the court so he is already making moves to rein him in. He is a master at balancing power in the court to make sure there are checks and balances so that everyone is his pawn and not the other way around. I always appreciate a well written emperor.

Yes indeed, she is a far more realistically written FL in an arranged, political marriage. Her story is not a fairytale - 1. she is forced to choose between her husband and her family and even though she is smart, she can't miraculously make it win-win and 2. her husband does NOT fall in love with her. In real life, this is not how these movies end. Our FL is a parallel character but SHE gets the fairytale ending.

I don't think he had a choice, they were all political marriages meant to keep an eye on him. Most likely the emperor's decision. The emperor is very smart and he balances everyone's power in his court. No better way to keep both eyes on Shen Zaiye than planting spies all around him. As for Taohua, I believe he is attracted to her but his survival instinct makes him distrust her even more bc of that.
