Worst ever drama. All of lee joon ki drama is how to extend episode than telling a good story. Either he is pathetic…
@shadow~ you speak like you're a renowned director or producer who has studied acting and/or even owns an acting college with that comment of yours. I find it even more humorous that you keep on watching an actor you clearly can not stand. Oh the irony.
I wish this was longer. I really do wish that it was longer. Even a 10— 30 minutes episode would have been great! This story had a lot of potential to grow into a full length drama series. Alas~ whatever was produced was incredibly beautiful. The chemistry between Rainie and Alan was amazing (like always) ~ this drama was beautiful. <3 Short and sweet.
Great drama overall ~ turns to the shites after episode 26 though. As soon as the female lead finds herself pregnant; shite hits the fan!
Also very relatable with the feelings between the first female lead and the second male lead. The back and forth for the girl's feelings when the second lead realises how he made a mistake and wants the girl openly~ was totally understandle for me personally.
The chemistry between the main leads felt a little cold to me~ I don't know why, but it felt more friendly, then romantic in most places. Maybe that is how their relationship was supposed to be showcased as it was first formed through friendship~ but looking back at the drama after having completed it a day ago; I feel more for the first female lead and the second male lead.
I was told that the first male lead is very possessive in this~ he isn't, ladies. He's more understanding and tolerant. There is only one or two instances where he loses his shite and becomes possessive. One when he grabs her at the restaurant after she comes back (the female lead leaves when the second lead 'rejects' her for the 10th time) & when the first male lead sees the bite mark the first female lead gave on the second male lead's jaw just to save him~ (they were about to fall into an icy lake and he wouldn't let her go so she bit him)~ the first male lead loses it in this scene and goes werewolf mate mode on the female lead. (I found Eddie's acting really great here! Because he generally has a very baby face and even when he is supposed to be angry~ I find it lacking :/)
This drama showed me how love is just good timing. Had the second lead not thought badly of his bad leg and kept on rejecting the girl for her sake ~ they would have been married and happy instead.
Had the desert king, the female lead's childhood sweetheart, not been so ambitious and killed everyone~ the female lead and he would be married instead.
Had the crappy woman Xian not been such an idiot and followed a path she didn't necessarily have to follow~ she would've married General Li and been married happily. (I don't even think she loved General Li.)
There are a lot of 'what ifs' in this drama. That makes it all the more saddening.
As for the OST: DAMN IT, THE MUSIC WAS SPOT ON! The lyrics made me cry in some scene because it was so on point with the situation and life in general~ sometimes I found myself reading the lyrics instead of the dialogues. It was that good.
"Born Lady Sin, her father, Shin Su-geun was the brother-in-law of King Yonsangun, and was opposed to the enthronement of Jungjong, leading a coup against him, in which he was killed. Due to this incident, Lady Sin was removed from her position as queen and expelled from the palace. She died in 1557, childless, and buried in a family tomb. Her position was posthumously restored in 1739 and her tomb was named Olleung."
If this is the same queen as the female character here~ wow she's going to go through a lot of crap. Wow this drama screams out sadness. Wow I should stop wasting my time obsessing over this when I know my heart is too weak to watch this. Wow.
I have it a 9.5/10 because I didn't walk into the movie expecting it to change the winds or make it rain — I just wanted something nice and easy on the heart to watch before bed. And this is exactly what this movie was. A great light watch! I didn't stop smiling from the beginning to the ending~ weird, even in the awkward scenes I was either smiling or chuckling. Also Gong Yoo is adorable in this! & the male lead Kwon Sang Woo looked like Jin — I noticed! (Seokjin -BTS <333 )
Worth it? Maybe not until the second season arrives, air, and finishes.
Also— the description can't possibly be correct since this is a modern adaptation.
Also speaking of the manhwa — I hope at least this drama has a happy ending. The ending in the manga was devastating to me. -.-
