This is exactly what I wrote in my review for One Spring Night “ I have respect for the director Ahn Pan Seok, and I can’t help but feel greedy and want him to cast the same cast and crew he does every time, especially Jung Hae In.” “I wish that in the future more directors and writers learn to capture our feelings the way they did”
Also big shoutout to Noh Hee kyung and Kim gyu tae. Thank you for mentioning them!
Sorry that I took so so so long to reply. I was hella busy, I couldn't even watch dramas. But I finally came around.Ah,…
So cool!!!!! What did you think of it. But no spoilers please 😅 I still didn't finish it because of the way I watch dramas. In the past I used to watch all the dramas until the middle and then intentionally stop and keep it for later. It's the case with most of my watchlist, you'll see them on-hold.
I really don't like shows having multiple seasons. Since this one is only 12 episodes, is the ending closed, or is there a chance it's going to have another part? Without spoilers :)
After reading your comment I realised you're right and the dramas have really turned towards catering for the…
I am someone who LOVES angst, but I never thought of it the way you said; older dramas' angst is different from the newer ones'. But yeah! you're right on this one! Some of the new romantic melodramas that I loved can be too cruel, to the point that it hurts, or drag it for too long, and it becomes pointless.
But it all could be that I have gotten too sensitive over the last few years. Also my references changed because I became too sensitive. I now avoid gruesome stuff at all costs, for example. I admit that time changed me too, not only dramas.
I guess people don't enjoy daily dramas anymore :( Since they're longer and naturally stretch things out.
I love daily dramas too! This was pretty ok I thought. I've seen worse, and this wasn't bad in my opinion. I am sure it has the usual dragging you see in every lengthy drama, but that's almost expected. I've only seen half of it. You can test it I guess, judge for yourself, and drop it if you don't like it. :)
I agree with you on kdramas turning into something darker, more specifically western, unfortunately. Which made me stay away from most 'new brand' hyped dramas and stick with things closer to classics. But these days, the number of the good dramas is going down.
But from my perspective, most of the dramas you tried are dramas that I stayed away from on purpose because they were exactly the evolution of dramas I hated. Or they were just... not good in terms of plot. I don't know, that's my opinion and taste. So I would say, you chose unsuitable ones. Sorry XD
I am by the way someone who stopped watching dramas at some point and then returned back, but it wasn't because I fell out of love or hit a slump. I was ... busy to simplify the long story. haha. The time I came back, dramas had a different essence, but most of it was still good. It wasn't as disappointing as it is now; where there majority of productions have a hidden agenda influenced by western standards. And my method of coping consists of watching older stuff (because there are SO many around), and by being super-selective when it comes to new ones.
I wouldn't throw recommendations because it looks like we have different tastes. But good luck on you second attempt. It could be that kdramas are not for you. Watch what makes you happiest!
