This show was absolutely terrible. The questionable plot line, terrible acting, constant replays, and one of the most annoying OSTs ever. So explain to me why I loved watching it and at that, more than once?
Truly questionable blood splashes 😀 The lack of world building didn’t bother me either. I’ve watched/read enough post-apocalyptic storyline that there really isn’t anything that I couldn’t piece together for myself. And the final showdown was a little rushed. This show really would have done better if it was a 8 or 10 episodes long. The only advantage of 6 episodes was that I could binge watch it in a day. But I’m with you - basic but so good.
Shame, I didn’t read your review until now. Up to ep13 and there is a lot left to sub. Really enjoying it. However, it annoys me is that they used an obviously Thai actor to portrait a Chinese person.
I get what your saying about utopia but here’s a thought - this is normalising this type of relationship. It’s showing it’s possible for people in the LGBTQ+ community to have healthy relationships. While it is pretty high on the tropes it still having them both acting like guys vs a masculine and effeminate ML’s nor has it got that soft porn element - which I think is a win. This is a fairy floss show - sweet, has no substance but addictive. A bit of fairy floss every now and again isn’t a bad thing. Anyway just a thought.
I honestly really am not sure who raped who. FL was exerting power both physically and position to the ML in that circumstance. She was not taking * no’ for an answer. However, the ML did have sex with her knowing she was totally drunk and acting out of character and honestly he should have fled the room. Regardless it does not excuse him from changing the birth control pills.
Totally agree with your review. I think it would have been better as a 12 episode show and pace it a lot faster. I watched the ep 12-16 in fast forward. The final episodes were pretty good. Maybe a too sweet all is well ends well HEA.
But I’m with you - basic but so good.
Really enjoying it.
