Review Again My Life
Another great review, I love your extensive research on the settings and action choreography!

I totally agree with you there. It's a great thriller to chill to (as strange as that sound) with a classic anti-hero ML and fantastic fight scenes. Lee Joon Gi is perfect in this role with his background in martial arts and youthful persona. The guy even sings and dances in his fan meetings for goodness sake, he can easily pass as a millennial. Lee Joon Gi is really apt for the slick yet shady lawyer / prosecutor look. Admittedly, I think he's a lot more polished here compared to Lawless Lawyer.

I've read my fair share of second-chance and revenge webtoons to know that this is nothing out of the box. However, the clean execution and great cast are what make the watching experience really enjoyable for me, hence I gave it an 8.5. I've also recently finished Flower of Evil so this drama has been a nice treat to fuel my Lee Joon Gi's obsession phase.

I shipped Kim Hee Woo with Kim Han Mi too! I just think they understand each other better. Actually I quite like Kim Hee Ah as well, but I kind of wish the script fleshes out her character a bit more. I wouldn't mind a few extra badass scenes, like Mo Seok Hee from Graceful Family's level of badass.

Should I watch this on Netflix or WeTV (I happen to have both)? Do you happen to know which has better/more accurate…
Normally, I prefer WeTV for historical C-dramas cause I feel like the translation is better at grabbing the subtleties of the language. I've heard that some people prefer Netflix because it's easier to understand.

I've tried to rewatch The Untamed on Netflix before and gave up after a couple of eps to jump back onto YouTube cause the translation feels a bit different 😅

HFX overheard that BFX is Princess Xiyun in ep 35, just after Feng Ju's rebellion ...
Also in ep 35. I think HFX sulks for like 5 seconds, then gets smitten by BFX again and follows her home to meet his in-laws... 😂

Loved the drama. Gave it 9 stars because I just felt at the end (the last 4 episodes) were extremely rushed and…
Yeah I didn't really mind the fact that there's no "grand reveal". I feel like HFX and BFX are too comfortable with each other that knowing an extra identity is not going to change how they treat and care for each other. Tbh it's kind of nice that HFX confesses to BFX before he even realises that she's Princess Xiyun...

Can you spoil me if Feng Lan Xi really have the illness or it is just an act?
HFX is faking illness initially so that his father and step-mother (current King and Queen of Yong) would think that he's harmless and leave him alone to do his own things. It's just sad that he has to be so vigilant against his own family, but I guess that's royal politics for you...

I don't think it's random trivial at all. This is taken from a romantic love story in Chinese history. The story…
Wow that's so interesting. I remember seeing couples painting each other's eyebrows in historical C-dramas (e.g. Love and Redemption) but never know what it means. Thanks for the insight ❤️

Hahaha especially when it takes me forever to decide on what to watch next. I'm one of those people that take weeks to pick a new drama and then finish binging it within a day 😂

Well that's a real shame. I love the complexity in historical C-dramas. The Story of Yanxi Palace and Story of Ming Lan are at least 70 eps, but the storytelling is so cohesive and engaging. Even the most popular romance historical ones were well over 50 eps, like Eternal Love and Ashes of Love.

Yeah, wouldn't mind another 10 eps tbh. Btw I've heard that they now restrict C-dramas to 40 eps max, is that true? I don't know how to speak or read Chinese so it's hard to stay up-to-date with the news in showbiz...

HFX and BFX are not actually enemies. It's more of a healthy and playful rivalry. And yes, they like each other…
There's some politics in there. But you can choose to focus on the 3 main characters instead (HFX, BFX and Huang Chao). I saw that you've watched The Untamed and Words of Honor, this shouldn't be heavier than those.

Who's the better fighter, Hei or Bai?
I think they're portrayed as equals of each other. Initially, HFX might appear to have the upper hand cause he's more devious and also in charge of the secret intel organisation Foundain Abode. But they kind of even out later on, and where one falls short the other would make up for it.

They're officially get together in ep 28. Tbh it doesn't feel like a slow-burn for me cause they flirt so much that it feels like they're together since ep 1 hahaha...

Wow, at ep 28 and I'm furious at this King. How can a father do this to his own son? I hope he has the worst ending…
Yeah the HFX's father is pretty callous. But he does kind of redeem himself later on, just a little bit though. I guess that's the whole problem with being king, it's a lonely position and you get tricked by all sorts of people.

Romance is "slow" in that it takes BFX and HFX a while to get together. But the chemistry is still there, plus it's so satisfying when they do get together 😁
