Well I finished it. it wasn't for me. The romance was poorly developed, mainly because the writers never explained WHY the leads liked each other-- he's nice and she's nice? What do they love about each other specifically The plot was predictable. The side couples were forgettable.

The chemistry is good and the kid is cute. This is an easy watch for those who are into this type of drama. I'm just not, I guess. I'll stick with Obce We Get Married

I need more Gao Weiguang in my life!!! Wish they would release this already

both of them: one in one storyline, a different guy in the other. I liked both men for her

I had so much trouble post-LBFAD, and then I had to go and watch this one. Now I have to struggle with watching anything but LBFAD and Shen Li, because these dramas are *exactly* my cup of tea. I always end up switching to modern dramas after a really good xianxia to help me get used to mediocrity again XD

This really has every single rom com cliche in it and I'm here for it. Not for everybody, but sometimes it's nice to watch something predictable and funny on 1.5x speed.

Yeah I'm pretty sure if you stop at ep 34 you should miss the stupid breakup. I thappens out of the blue. Then watch the last few minutes of the final episode.

I finished the drama. It's quite good! A typical slice-of-life plot-wise, but the parallel storylines make it feel fresh. The acting was great, the storylines were clearly separated from one another, and the FL's character growth (in different ways in each storyline) was believable. Unfortunately this will probably end up as an underrated drama on MDL, but it definitely deserves better tham a 7.2. Just understand that you are watching two different storylines, not only one. It would have been very confusing if I hadn't known that before watching.

Side note, I liked that there were 2 MLs so I could support the one who suited my tastes better 😂

ok but I hate the Leshan ML's mom. They literally play off a scene where she replaces the FL's prenatal meds with something that *lands her in the hospital* and almost causes her miscarriage as "funny." I hate these overbearing mothers, especially when the kids always just accept their behavior as "they're my parents and they meant well." Um, if my MIL ever did that to me, I would move out immediately because she's literally endangering people's lives. The mom is constantly interfering in her children's lives in severe ways. When they tell her to stop, she never does. My gosh it doesn't matter if she's your mom, her behavior is wildly unacceptable!

Chinese viewers, please tell me this is an exaggeration and that your moms aren't this bad in real life. I'm worried for y'all.

Only a few episodes in, but so far I'm enjoying the drama pretty well. I really like the concept, and I think they separate the parallel storylines clearly enough. You definitely need to already know that there are going to be parallel storylines or you'll get confused really fast.

So far it seems to me it would've been better off as a short form drama since there's not enough substance for the full-length frama to be interesting, but at least it's not as many episodes.

Some people have strong opinions about this drama. It's not for everyone and could be confusing if you don't understand the premise, but it's really not bad at all.

I wish more cdramas ended like this one. I'm so, so happy they gave us an entire episode of fan service at the end, especially after all the tears that I shed over the leads' star-crossed love earlier in the drama. Too many dramas do the star-crossed lovers trope without giving enough payoff at the end-- I'm looking at you, LBFAD even though I still love you to death. The chemistry, acting, music, and script are top-tier. This is right up there with my other gold standards for xianxia: LBFAD and Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms.

Well that's too bad, but we all have different tastes. What do you think you liked so much about Shen Li? Was it the romance, the plot, the production, humor, etc? I might be able to make a better recommendation based on your response.

That's why I ended up dropping this drama more than halfway through. I couldn't deal with her betraying Tantai Jin over and over again. Honestly she's the real villain of the show.

Also I feel like this will almost be as bad as LBFAD for me in the sense that I'll have to switch to modern dramas for a while before I can watch another xianxia.

And Furong is the best, though I'm definitely biased because My Fated Boy is one of my favorite cdramas ever.

The romance in this is basically Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms and the Pillow Book (Eternal Love of Dream) rolled into one and I'm HERE for it!

Definitely try Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms (English title Eternal Love) if you liked this one. TMOPB's plot has some similarities, and the production value and acting is just amazing. The FL is also strong and powerful like Shen Li. It was my first cdrama and I still consider it to be one of the best xianxia out there.

The whole contraceptive thing in ep 24 stresses me out way more than it probably should, though. These two got married without ever having a single discussion about children/family planning?? Big yikes

It's good for a relaxing watch without much drama. For me, it started out cute and then got tired and draggy about halfway through. It would've been better as a mini drama. It's still a cute watch if you skip the draggy parts.

I think it would've been better as a short drama. The plot just couldn't support as many episodes as there were and stay interesting, and this wasn't a long drama at all.
