I agree with you about the kiss scenes. But I will point out that the lead actor was only 19/20 when he filmed…
I find that frustrating about cdramas, too. It was one of the main things I liked about Her Perfect Husband: the FL actually shows she's into the ML and initiates a lot of intimacy. Same goes for Forever and Ever.
Interesting theory about falling birth rates. I'm inclined to think that the falling birth rates are more due to living costs outpacing income, a cultural lack of prioritization of children (particularly in China), and having way more men than women in China. Not only that, but most western countries are experiencing falling birth rates (the US is ok because of immigration) because that's what happens in developed countries. That being said, there are probably too many factors to count that play into that.
Loved this drama overall for its honest approach to a couple falling in love (ML was so beautifully cast and written)…
I agree with you about the kiss scenes. But I will point out that the lead actor was only 19/20 when he filmed this. Younger actors rarely know how to kiss-- I think I've only seen one (Song Weilong) where this wasn't the case. Dylan Wang shows great progression from not performing well in kiss scenes (Meteor Garden and his earlier dramas) to showing great improvement in his more recent dramas (particularly Only For Love). I'm willing to give ML a pass since he's young and new to acting. FLs almost never know how to kiss, so unfortunately the FL fits right in with them. She did better in My Little Happiness.
Now if the lead actor gets older and still doesn't know how to kiss well, that'll be really embarrassing.
yeah I wouldn't recommend this one for watching him... his hair is bad, his outfit is blah, and even his character is blah. I had to go back and rewatch his scenes in Forever and Ever to remember why I thought he was handsome
I winced everytime he was in a scene. He was so handsome in Forever with the long hair. Not only was it a horrible…
It's like his hair came from Grease and his outfit came from some instagram influencer's husband.... it's some of the worst styling I've ever seen. I'm so sad because he's so handsome and they really gave him the worst styling possible.
I really, really wanted to enjoy this drama-- it had a lot going for it with the pairing, costumes, and directing.I…
I dropped the drama when I realized the FL was going to betray the ML AGAIN for no apparent reason. If she simply asked him anything, or spoke to him at all, he would have done anything for her. She doesn't though, she goes off and betrays him multiple times and he's supposed to forgive her? Not only that, be in a relationship with her? Apparently my limit with these dramas is a lack of trust in the relationship.
I really, really wanted to enjoy this drama-- it had a lot going for it with the pairing, costumes, and directing. I ended up having to drop it (which I never do) because the writing was lacking in so many ways. Every conflict up to the point I watched (past halfway) was caused by miscommunication or misunderstanding. I couldn't ship the leads together because I had serious issues with the FL's character. I'm disappointed because I want to see what everyone else seems to see in this drama, but I just don't :(
Me every time I see a scene of one of the leads as a child playing with another child of the opposite gender: "Wow, I wonder who that other kid could be. It *definitely* couldn't be the female/male lead...."
This is basically a "Hallmark" drama. It doesn't add anything new to the modern romance genre, but it follows the formula so you know exactly what you're getting. I was expecting something different based on the synopsis, but I'm not unhappy with what I got. Relaxing watch that I skipped through.
Just finished it. It's good. But let me elaborate. First, I want to talk about all the comments you read here.…
I think the second half isn't bad, it just doesn't fit well with what we got in the first half. The second half turned the show into your typical "bossy CEO" drama-- which no shame on people who like that, but I watched this show specifically because I thought it was different from other modern cdramas. Having the drama change like that was jarring and unwelcome on my part. So I agree it's not as bad as people make it out to be, but if you're watching the show because you think it'll bring something new to the table, I say watch the first half and quit.
hi i really want to know if there is a scheming woman who is jealous of the fl in this drama and does she try…
oh yeah, I've been skipping most of the workplace stuff so I forgot about her. Jiang Xin so far is scheming, but hasn't been able to cause any permanent damage on the FL. The FL stands up for herself and her boss believes the FL over Jiang Xin.
Whoever styled Ci Sha for this drama did him so dirty. His hair looks like he belongs in Grease (missing the man bun from Forever & Ever), and he's either a blob of beige or gray the entire drama. Why'd they do this to him
I like them because I find the FLs more mature and independent than most FLs outside of the genre. Also because it's just a societal norm that a man can be significantly older than a woman but not the other way around. I don't think I'd be into it in real life personally but I enjoy the dynamic of the woman being more dominant than the man in the relationship instead of the other way around.

Can someone explain the very end to me though? There was no explanation offered and I'm confused.
