Just finished this one. I give it 10/10 for the love story, 7/10 for the plot. The plot was kinda all over the place. I also agree with what a lot of people have already said about it being too long. Twenty episodes would've been perfect.
I watched it without seeing "One and Only," and it definitely works as a standalone. I'm going to go back and watch One and Only so I can appreciate this one more.

Mei Xing is by far the best-looking actor in this drama (no offense to Allen Ren, he's cute). Every moment he's on the screen is another dose of eye candy for me

The picture for this is giving me diabetes... GAAAHHH I can't wait!!!
Pope's little fake mustache still gives me physical pain, though. It looks so bad

This drama had me on the edge of my seat for all 15 episodes of it. It's intriguing, unpredictable, and there are so many twists and turns that you'll never get bored.
Definitely deserving of the hype. 9.5/10

Hi! Do you know where I can find the raws? I wanna dl but I can't find it anywhere...
When I made this comment, most of the usual pirate sites only had the raws. It looks like this one now has the episodes with English subtitles: https://www4.myasiantv.cc/show/miss-s/episode-1

The website probably isn't safe though, so just don't download any of the videos :)

I just finished this, and I really enjoyed it. It has a compelling storyline, great chemistry between the leads, great character development, great OST, a great villain arc, and great acting.
Though it's not perfect, it does enough things well enough that you're willing to overlook its flaws (no offense to Li Xun, but I would never recommend one of my irl friends date him).
I particularly liked the villain arc. We got to see how he began, why he became the way he did, and how his pursuits panned out for him in the end. We even empathize with him a little bit. That was one of my favorite things about this.
Chen Fei Yu has mastered the "Mr. Darcy stare," as I call it. You can tell just from his eyes how much he loves Zhu Yun.
The characters are really well-written as well. Each of them is a complex person with strengths and flaws. Nobody is overly perfect, not even our ML and FL. They really feel like people. The script and the acting feels really natural as well. Chen Fei Yu and Zhang Jing Yi apparently improvised some of their scenes together, which really added to their chemistry. Every moment they were on screen together was a delight.

This one was also especially fun for me since it was about programming. They got a lot of it right, so it was fun for me to watch their techno-babble and think about how they might approach that project (I know, I'm a giant nerd). Most techno-babble in TV series is absolute gibberish, which is entertaining in its own way. I particularly appreciated the mostly-correct portrayal of hacking.

Overall, I highly recommend this drama. It's one that you might not think is *that* great until you finish it (that was my case), but I'm really glad I stuck it out because everything came together so beautifully in the end.

Just finished watching and overall its a great drama. The acting, ost and cinematography made the difference with…
I'm a programmer and they got a lot of it right. I can't speak to hacking (I've only done low-level hacking), but their portrayal of it was at least correct (all you see is the terminal, not pop-ups coming up all over your screen like most TV portrays).
The amount of programming the leads learned in a single semester was unrealistic from my perspective. It made sense that Li Xun knew more, but since Zhu Yun was supposed to be a beginner, there's no way she would've been able to learn all of that in the span of 3-4 months. But as dramas go, this is a minor offense.
The "techno-babble" was accurate most of the time. It seems the screenwriter/author had some idea of what they were talking about. When the leads were working on a project, the code shown on their computer screens matched up with the code you would see for that type of project. They even got the IDEs right (that's the software you use to write code, there are different softwares depending on the language you're using and the type of project).

I thought at first that this drama's plot synopsis here in MDL seemed ordinary and a bit cliché so I didn't plan…
I just finished it and was thinking about how the synopsis is misleading. It's not cliche at all, I really enjoyed it. I think it's deserving of the hype, though I had to watch it all the way through before I came to that conclusion.

I thought Eternal Love of Dream was a decent adaptation of its book. The drama has a lot of flaws, but they kept the good bits in and followed the storyline pretty faithfully. I read the book after I watched the drama, but overall I was satisfied with the drama as an adaptation.

(though I am mad that I didn't get to hear Vengo Gao say, "I've never believed in destiny, and I certainly don't need its charity." Would it have been so hard to give him that line instead of Zhong Lin?? Thoughtless)

Love O2O is also a good adaptation. I think it did a better job at adapting the book than YAMG.

The look Yin Zheng gives Li Wei during their second wedding in episode 39... I've never felt more single in my life. I watched it like ten times over because it was so freaking adorable
On New Life Begins Dec 26, 2022
This drama somehow made me like a lot of elements I normally hate in Cdramas: multiple characters' stories, side characters, palace intrigue, politics, and slow burn (though I only hate slow-burns when they don't get together until the last few minutes of the final episode). This show did all these elements so well that I barely skipped anything at all. The side characters weren't annoying and they didn't get too much screentime compared to the leads (which is my normal complaint-- giving ten episodes to side characters where the leads pop their heads in once). The subplots were interesting, original, and felt more realistic than the usual politics you see in historical dramas. It was a drama that did more than claim to be feminist (where the FL is "strong and independent" but still needs the ML to do everything for her), it actually was. I loved the different women building each other up and how there wasn't one evil girl who was just evil for the sake of it. They were complex people with clear motivations and some eventually changed.
The slow burn did get tiring after a while, but we got handsomely rewarded for waiting in later episodes :)
Bai Jing Ting and Tian Xi Wei hit it out of the park with their chemistry. They were fantastic together. They both actually know how to kiss too, which was so refreshing!
I think my favorite thing about this drama is how the characters were written. Every character was written three-dimensionally-- everyone had strengths but also had flaws, and they grow as people throughout the drama. Even the "villains" aren't all bad. It was so good to see drama characters that were just, well, people.

I highly recommend this drama to literally anyone. It's one of the best Cdramas I've ever seen. After I finished it, I wanted to go back and watch it all over again, which is something that has *never* happened to me with a Cdrama before. This drama is worth every minute you spend watching it.

Let me be the 8272627383 person to say I LOVED THIS DRAMA SO SO MUCH 😭 I tend to ne picky with wuxia/xianxia/ancient…
I almost dropped it because of the lack of romance in the middle, but boy did they reward us handsomely for waiting episode 34 and on. So glad I stuck with it. This is one of the few Cdramas that didn't rush the ending and spent an appropriate number of episodes to wrap things up XD
I only wish Yin Qi and Shangguang had had a kiss scene. They were so cute.

Anybody know who wrote the instrumental soundtrack for this drama? It reminds me of Eternal Love of Dream's soundtrack, but then it also sometimes reminds me of TMOPB's. Just wondering if some of the same people were involved

On episode 20 now. I'm a little disappointed by this one so far, mostly because I had really high hopes for it…
Also the morning -after scene when Jiangyue has a voice over saying, "So that's what love is" made me cringe so hard I almost had to turn it off. *retches*

Title Why Women Love Spoiler
On episode 20 now. I'm a little disappointed by this one so far, mostly because I had really high hopes for it…
I have whiplash from episode 19 though. They went from 0 to 100 reallyyy fast. One second you're still not certain whether Jiang Yue is going to accept Gu Jiaxin or not, then ten minutes later they have sex. Wow. I get that they'd known each other for a while at that point, but I can't imagine kissing a guy for the first time in the afternoon and then having sex with him that night (not to mention that we *just* officially got together that day as well). The scenes were well-done, but I wish they had spaced them out a bit before they went from just friends to talking about marriage.
That's the other thing-- Gu Jiaxin told Jiang Yue he "ai"d her (love loved) that same day. Then the next day he proposed to her. It felt like it came out of nowhere. I saw no indication that he love loved her yet-- I feel like that should develop as they actually dated and got to know each other in a romantic way. Being in a relationship with someone is very different from being "just friends" with them, especially considering the fact that she was his superior and he was her subordinate.

I would've preferred that they space all of it out, rather than cramming it all into one episode. It all felt rushed and I honestly couldn't savor it as a viewer because everything happened so fast. There were a bunch of episodes before that I watched maybe ten minutes total of because they were so predictable and slow. Why didn't they have them get together sooner so they could've put the love confession, consummation, and marriage proposal in separate episodes? They had so much time.

I'm having a hard time enjoying watching them be cutesy together because I honestly haven't had time to want to see any of that. You're supposed to give viewers just enough to keep them satisfied, but not enough that they stop wanting more. That's why Cdrama relationships are paced the way they are-- the buildup keeps you entertained for longer than the actual relationship.
On Why Women Love Oct 21, 2022
On episode 20 now. I'm a little disappointed by this one so far, mostly because I had really high hopes for it based on the reviews.
The writing is pretty weak most of the time. Characters' motivations are unclear, important plot points are mentioned a few times then never brought up again, and the pacing of the romance is all over the place.
I don't regret watching it overall because the leads do have really great chemistry. They seem very comfortable with each other and are convincing on screen as a couple. I also like that the noona romance isn't the main focus of the drama-- I LOVE noona romance, and I appreciate that there are now dramas that aren't making such a big deal out of it. Wang Ziyi and Gina really nailed their roles.

I mostly feel like this drama doesn't do anything that hasn't been done before. I find it predictable with the usual Cdrama frustrations. I can almost say half the characters' lines before they say them.

This one was a skip-through drama for me. Other people like it, but I guess it's not my cup of tea.

This drama proves in ancient dramas Chinese Boys or Girls looks very good looking when they tied hair with ponytails…
They do look better with ponytails, but top knots are more historically accurate. Just my two cents

On youtube, I read a comment of a Chinese speaking person that our baby boy diction is very good and clear and…
euphonious: Pleasing or agreeable to the ear.
Basically they just said his accent sounds good.
