When I saw the trailer for this, I thought it wouldn't be able to capture the essence of the webtoon and wouldn't work as a stand alone drama either. Didn't have anything to watch and decided to just check it out. I am glad that this is good, it took me back to when I used to read the webtoon. At first it was weird and absurd, then every episode used to leave me feeling simply happy. It's the same with this drama.
I thought I would be annoyed if they introduced romance into the plot, but surprisingly I am not. The story is engaging enough to me that the romance will become an interesting element and not a drag.
My list of shows that everyone should watch at least once - 1. Move to Heaven 2. Life on Mars 3. Mouse 4. 18 Again 5. When the Devil Calls Your Name 6. Signal 7. One Ordinary Day 8. The Guest
This was so enjoyable! The acting was not bad and was actually pretty good. If you are unfamiliar with this type of a mini series you might feel the acting is awkward but once you get used to the format you will be immersed.
Oh man, the casting is a miss for me. The webtoon and novel is so good that I was looking forwards to this until I realized that Lee Min Ho is going to be in it. I just can't stand his acting. Guess I'll skip this show.
The first half had my head spinning and I had to take mini breaks from watching every now and then to adjust myself to the harshness depicted. Still, the sudden cuts in the movie made the plot seem chopped up and it was hard to make sense of what was happening. So, I sat with this review that explained some stuff and read it alongside watching the movie. Then, things started to make sense and the second half explained all the confusing and complicated plot points brought up in the first half. Anything else that I couldn't understand was explained in the review I read. (https://blwatcher.com/bl-movies/sing-in-love-movie-film-review/) It was actually a beautiful movie with a beautiful story. It's just that the execution was bloody harsh, but I suppose that serves to drive the point home. If you want to watch the movie, I suggest you do it the way I did it to better handle it and understand it.
I felt like Go Chung Myung from Hotel Del Luna was the most pitiful. He ended up hurting his loved ones and himself due to unavoidable circumstances. It's all the more pitiful than any other SML because I feel like he really had the potential to really live a happy life with Jang Man Wol (IU). At least the other SMLs got to live their lives and pursue other meaningful things. This man ended up as a pinprick of light watching over his love who hated him for years on end. Truly tragic.
I love this drama 100%But why are they exaggerating about Qi apotheosis I didn’t even see the power of it and…
Yeah! That's what I thought too! Not just the grandmaster but every rando he met along the way tuned in and helped him! It was equal parts fun and funny to me. But I suppose we will get to see the full extent of it's abilities and the repercussions it brings in the next season.
You know what? That Duan Mu Ying, the old lady who was imprisoned in the Lu sect... When she was trapped in their wine cellar, she could have just used her awesome memory and body manipulation powers to fight them off and escape right? How did those Lu sect people manage to capture and keep her there if her power's one of the eight supremes and is as powerful as everybody claims them to be? Xu San from NDT even says that they shouldn't go searching for her because she is so powerful that none of the ten elders could do anything about her. So how did one of the weaker ones from the ten elders capture and hold onto her? If she just got out then, all that angst could have been avoided.
