Right what’s a show without any valid villains. Ik it seems hard to not want the show to be like the book but for me I try not to do that as much as I can because the book and show will never be the same.
As a book reader I’m actually loving all the changes being made here other than the demon princess I still don’t get why she’s appearing that much. One thing I love about this show is that it explains/shows why or how a certain thing or event went the way it did. And I’ve seen many comments from other sites complaining about night’s exposure and how they wanted it to be like the book but y’all do get that if it’s like the book then night is going to basically appear all the time since he’s a lead in the book and that he’s going to be really close with Jin Mi. Ik for sure at that time viewers will be even more pissed since most of us are a fan of Yang Zi and Deng Lun’s sizzling chemistry. I’ve seen many comments bashing the actor who’s acting as night which is totally unfair they’re saying he’s paying money to get more scenes but they don’t realized how his character actually impacts the plot, I would believe it more if they said the demon princess was the one who paid. Also there are comments saying why isn’t this like TMOPB and I’m just laughing cause those commenters seem to forget that in TMOPB the supporting had more or less the same screening time as the leads...

Ying lou’s like smart but then at the same time gets saved by others too. I just don’t like how the Ying Luo character was brought out to be, I honestly like the queen more. Ying Luo interactions makes me question it a lot like in the beginning how she argued with the mama about the concubines by saying she need some to do what’s right to her so she can lift her head up(if I remember correctly). But once she sees the other girl dead she’s all still trying to be like I’m still going through but then the dead girl friend came begging then she got all scared and refused. Like why would you try to retort the mama by saying you have to do the right thing but then get scared once the friend confronts her. That particular scene just made me not like it much and many others actions are just like what, but I get it since she’s the never dying lead.

I love how the mortal Xu Feng married the dead Jin Mi and it was so heartbreaking that he rather stayed/died in the coffin than not be with Jin Mi ughhh my heart. That was probably the most emotional scene I’ve seen in so long. And the after part where they finished the trial, oh the hug just made me so happy and sad at the same time. I think that you’ve misunderstand I’m not hating on night he did things for a reason what I’m not liking is the soldier since shes tries to come off as righteous but she technically isn’t by helping night manipulating Jin Mi.
At this point Night is just beyond saving how in his heart is he able to even manipulate Jin Mi even in her dreams. Also the soldier who stuck by night side is a hypocrite she said she can’t do bad things against morals to Sui He since she’s and honest person who can’t lie, but then goes help night in distorting Jin Mi’s vision. Ugh so many disgusting creature amongst our adorably innocent Jin Mi & xu Feng. I was hoping in the show night would not be as manipulative like the novel but sadly he still is.

We got different taste TMOPB was okay but the beginning was slow with some actions from Su su that made me not like it as much. And bai qian was suppose to be a badass character but she was saved all the time by either her master or yehua which makes me really question is she really the high goddess that’s revered by all. The acting was good but the plot just had so many flaws.
A lot of people are comparing this to TMOPB but imo it’s way better, TMOPB took forever for me to get interested and and at some point I dropped it because some part were draggy/slow or didn’t make sense but this show hooked me right away till now. It’s fast paced along with great acting from everyone this is literally truly the best.
Okay at 30something eps HSALF is the only show ever that I didn’t skip eps or get bored at all, everything even including the top rated shows made me skipped or dropped so I’m surprised that I haven’t even fastforwarded for this amazing show. The best show ever!
