I'm really sorry to say this, but TKA has kind of lost its spark for me.
The less the plot was centered around romance, the less Hyun was on our screens and the less comedy was sprinkled into the story, the more I found the show to lose its spark. Whereas the first +- 10 episodes or so were a solid 10/10 for me. Now it's more like an 8 I'd say. To a point where I'm not even eagerly awaiting new episodes like I was before. FYI - it doesn't help that I'm not too fond of the queen and her groundless love as well as powerplay centered plots in general either.
For me, I’m finding the music is weighing this series down, adding to the morose feeling. It happened similarly…
It's so interesting that you're comparing it to Something in the rain, because it gave off a similar vibe to me as well, especially regarding the level of toxicity in the immediate surroundings of the leads. I dropped SITR so I'm curious to see if I'll get through this one. I might join you in fast forwarding some bits from now on. Has that been making it more enjoyable for you?
It's sad that it took's Ji Woon's father losing a friend before he came to realize that there's not only one path for him to follow, but I'm so glad to see him finally change sides. At least that's how I interpreted the last scene of ep 16.
I think after ep 6 we are going to get that 4yr time leap, idk I just feel it. It's her wedding day and ye rin's…
I think so too. I’m expecting the time skip to be from ep 7 onwards, and it’s about time for that too.. Is this your first high school corruption drama? It is for me and it’s just so upsetting... From the competitiveness amongst students to the extreme pressure exerted by their parents to the higher-ups that are messed up in every way possible, wow. It’s sad to think that this equals some people’s reality.
