7 episodes in and ML's mother literally makes my blood boil. Of course a relationship between a minor and a grownup is not okay. But the sole principal of trying to ruin someone else's life because you hold a grudge against them to a point where it resembles obsession and withholding your child from making certain mistakes in life because you believe that their experience will be no different than your own is wrong to me.
I'm quite lost myself at the moment to say the least. For this reason I kept putting off watching this drama while it was airing. After reading a few reviews and the comments I decided to give it a shot after all. Now, I'm 12 episodes in and it's a lot more comforting than I was expecting from the title and the synopsis. I do relate to the characters and their feelings or the lack thereof a lot, but in a way where I feel understood, rather than triggered.
Every episode leaves me in awe of the beauty of TKA. I love the interaction among the different characters and there are quite a few scenes that I find comedic as well. As an absolute romance lover I appreciate that -unlike most- this historical drama is not centered around a power play. Moreover, I'm really impressed with the acting of our leads. I loved Rowoon in his previous works and I've only seen Park Eun Bin in "Do you like Brahms?", but both of them portray these multi-faceted characters really well imo. What I'm most surprised by though is the lack of scenes that I find uninteresting; which is really rare for me these days. All in all: love it so far and highly recommend if you were unsure of whether or not to start watching.
