This drama may lack on plot but it was able to bring out the family makjang in the most funny ways. Characters are so exaggerated and I am having so much fun. Cast is just doing their job, yelling, hair grabbing, etc. is part of their role in this drama. If you watch Cha Hwa Yun in other dramas you can see how different her acting is despite playing the same role as a mum of a character.
when Hwal started to plead and be all sorry before dying... I was soooooooooooo done 🤣For someone who went…
how can you not see his motivation?!?!? He grew up being treated like a plague by everyone. And when his wife and son showed that he did in fact bring bad fate he wanted to kill Bulgasal to make his curse stop. But end up losing the only family that loved him. That's why he spent 600 years loking for her. When he found her he was so tired of living like this that he just wanted to end it. But the events lead him to doubt, while finding intel with her he end up meeting his family again and realized once again that he was the cause of their misfurtune. What fuel do you want? Poor bastar was drained by a curse that he didn't even recall was cast by him! If this is not a epic fate for a character I don't know what it is.
I agree on the fact that the drama wasted the potential to go ballistic with the dark side, ML could have shined as the ultimate revengeful Bulgasal.
But the decison to add the romantic vibe hasn't ruined my experience of watching as well as it didn't ruin the plot. The love portrayed in this drama is not the classic romance between leads that requires chemistry. It's family love. FL had it in her, ML had to go through different lives and pain to understand it. That was the whole point.
FL character was the only one badly written, she was too good even as for someone who seek more than a partner, a family. ML didn't came out as epic as it could have be, but overall he was in line with the plot. A person who lost everything twice and live 600 years alone seeking revenge can't suddendly spark emotions and chemistry just because he met a girl.
The real problem with this show were the monster hunts, initially interesting they end up sucking tons of screen time, wasting the potential to develop better other dynamics.
For the ending. The idea to close the circle of reincarnation like that fit the story told so far. Everything started for the brother and the sister, they end up having the life bulgasal lady wanted for them thanks to hwal's sacrifice. It's only right that the sister ends up making them reunited to give them the life they couldn't have as bulgasal.
Yes, it's not the dark we wanted, but as said above I put my mind at peace when I realized that korean writer would be korean writer once again. If I should judge a drama by how I want the story to go my drop rate would be at 90%
BTW, I am confused with something, it is kind of weird they professed their love for each other on ep 15 and that…
I don’t know. Maybe he said it as a wish and not as an intention. He wished he could follow his original plan (get human again) but now he can’t let her sacrifice for him. Because along the way, thanks to her, he realized how his revenge brought more misfortune to those he loves than justice.
I don’t get why people are complaining about the romance in Bulgasal. It’s not a romance. They added a bit of romantic vibe to held the tragedy of their fate. That’s it. The monster hunts were the dragged aspect that stole time for a better development of characters. But overall, as a fantasy, it served a compelling revenge story so far….. waiting for the finale to see if they will close it properly.
Started off as a great family drama but went downhill in the second half, as usual around ep.10. A shame because the performance of the cast was great and it could have won a spot as best family drama having the advantage to be shorter than long ones.

It requires time to grab the raw and uploading. Plus adding the subs.
If we are lucky we will have it in a couple of hours.

Either way I am not ready for the ending.
