I am so fucking pissed. If they wanted us to believe there is real love between them they should have built romance along the way. But for how Lee El character was shown so far and ML inexpressiveness, I can’t feel anything between them in ep. 11. I hope the author will drop this romance bullshit and let Lee El go ballistic with her revenge.
She is not a professional con-artist, she started with a lie and ended up being a fraud. Nothing was planned, or at least not as a professionist, you can see that from different details, she mostly jump on occasions and learn along the way. According to Coupang Play’s promotion she should also have some kind of psychological element to her behavior. She is a morally grey character in a story that has a lot of morals about society like Parasite. She did all that to live a dream life, but she become even more miserable than before and worse than the people who treated her badly. The script and the pace fit well the synopsis. Never liked Suzy but here she is on point with her role.
We can argue all day long on how some serious topics weren’t dealt in a professionalism way, how Mi Jung dialogues shared the same concept in different lines, always in a beautiful way tho, how ki jung ending was weaker respect to her siblings, how we seek the romance despite being a slice of life, and so on depending on personal tastes…… but the truth is this is a drama and they delivery it, from visuals to acting, from lines to characters,. The idea of Mr, Gu, a stranger that moves a family story deserves better recognition than some script that won beakesang.
