It's possible that the particular kissing scene happened after the fighting scene. But if thats the case, I'm guessing they must have done "it" earlier, as she mentioned that she "gave" herself to him during the fighting scene. And in the kissing scene she also mentioned that the tattoo on his chest disappeared. How would she know if she hasn't seen his bare chest before?

I think it's a HE where all misunderstandings are cleared and they eventually get married. But in terms of the timing of the kissing/make love scene, I'm guessing it happened before the fighting scene because she mentioned that she "gave" herself to him during the fighting scene. Unless they did it earlier which is not shown yet.

And it looks like SF is protecting XJ again without letting her know, which probably caused the misunderstandings between. It's annoying.

I'm guessing the kissing scene happened before the sad fighting scene, as during the fighting scene XJ mentioned that she had trusted SF and gave herself to him.

I often get confused watching trailers, as there are multiple lifetimes involved. Unless they say out each other's names, I'll wonder if scenes happen in this lifetime or the previous ones. In other dramas you can kind of tell from their different dressing or hairstyles but in this drama it's not that obvious. E.g. SF also changed his hairstyle a couple of times in this lifetime. At the beginning he had a fringe, then when he was wearing the lovers curse mask he had no fringe, now he has his fringe back and later when his phoenix identity is out he seems to have no fringe again.

I thought the status part was because of the Palace's rule of no romantic attachments and XJ inspecting his body, I thought he was asking cause he was shy that XJ saw his private parts LOL. This info would make the whip scene even more meaningful. That he was willing to sacrifice himself for XJ knowing very well that the whip is going to kill him.

Agree. I had a similar feeling. He went cold turkey a bit too abrupt. But after giving it some thought, it's also quite realistic. Hearing about his brother was a big shock to him. His mind was in a flux and emotions were conflicted. If one is in such an unbalanced state, it's possible to suffer from impaired judgement. Hence, his silly decisions to follow Mr Bai's advice blindly.

His personality is already the stoic and masculine type. But I think he is suppressing his emotions/affections even more cause he knows that he is deeply in love with CY and the possibility of the emperor having a hand in his brother's dead is unsettling to him. Hence, his way to deal with the situation is to take a step back and only commit when he has sorted out /found solutions to the issues. Another reason why I think he appears so cold is because he feels extremely tormented about using CY as a bait (essentially betraying her trust) so he can't face her and is keeping himself at arms length. But at the same time he cares deeply for her which is shown when CY is not around or when he is unable to control his composure, e.g. snake bite mania, when he found out CY was abducted, talking to his aunt, the scene where he thought that CY was committing suicide.

Agree. He was too engrossed in his own thoughts and totally oblivious about what CY was sharing with him. He only caught the part about CY mentioning that she felt indebted to the emperor.

On giving XY one month's time, I think her behavior can be explained. She didn't know what XY is bothered with. So she might innocently think that XY is not clear about his feelings for her yet. She took it as a challenge, as demonstrated when she exclaimed that she has read a lot of romance novels and is confident that she can "conquer" him.

There have been some discussions here and other platforms theorising that the hooded guy is indeed the doctor/high priest. If so, I find this a major plot hole, as there have been occasions where CY wanted to leave XY's mansion (especially in the initial few episodes) but it's the high priest who stopped her. If he is the hooded guy then he should have encouraged her to leave XY so that he can kidnap her earlier....

I personally think it's better than tiger and rose, in terms of chemistry between the actors, comedy, romance and costumes
