Okay I literally lasted half an hour. I should be studying why am I doing this?

If HJP is endgame then everything makes sense to me and I can see where NDS' storyline is going. He will become successful and that will be his happy ending. If NDS is endgame then where are things going for HJP? Is he just going to be exactly where he was in the beginning? Remember Grandma's scene where she says it's a problem that he's not married. Marriage is what it will take to complete his story. That's not true for NDS. NDS' story is about becoming a success. He's been letting down his parents (at least that's how he and his parents see it) and he's been letting down his friends (at least that's how he sees it). If he can become accomplished even if he doesn't end up with SDM his story will come to a neat and tidy end. HJP is further along in life than NDS. He's already been there done that. We are with NDS at a point in his life that happened off screen for HJP.

This is a silly thing but one of the things making me think that she will end up with NDS is the song "Future" which seems like it's about NDS. Maybe HJP will be paired off with someone else. WIJ? It seems unlikely at the moment but she still hasn't been utilised as much as I was expecting so maybe that's where her character is heading.

I guess it's possible HJP will just have a non ending in that his story will take him nowhere and he'll still pretty much be where he was at the beginning. That is usually the fate of the second lead. I just would expect him to be treated better than most second leads because he has been so far in a narrative sense.

So I've been reading the latest comments and I've lost hope again in Miji endgame. I'm thinking specifically of the theory that while the beginning was about HJP, the middle is about SDM and the end will be about NDS. That doesn't make perfect sense to me but it's plausible enough to give me my doubts. I just don't know where this drama is going, I'm going to give up guessing for now. See you all on Saturday. That is if I have enough self control to stay away until then. I probably don't.

It's so depressing to hear that. I have my opinions about how this drama should go (team HJP) and I won't lie, I'll feel pretty upset with her if it doesn't go that way but I'm more upset to hear about irrational arrogant people doing such unreasonable things as making death threats over a drama and a fictional character. It's embarrassing and depressing in equal measure.

Okay, I haven't read through the latest comments yet so I'm sorry if I repeat what someone has already said but here's my latest guess.

Grandma will go blind. HJP will leave his business behind to take care of Grandma, allowing SDM to follow NDS to America. This fits in with a theory I've seen on twitter that HJP will lose his wealth. Maybe he won't lose it exactly but will walk away from it or at least part of his current life to take care of Grandma.

I don't think anything will ever beat MONEY!!!

I just want to say how much I miss the NDS from the first few episodes.

I just had a horrible thought that has occurred to me before but now I think it fits with the idea that SDM might leave with NDS. What if Grandma dies?

Your dreaming? That's nothing. I've now started contemplating the possibility that WIJ will help HJP get together with SDM (see comment below).

You've got me thinking. WIJ might become HJP and SDM's number one shipper. She was a big part of the reason why they started writing to each other and why they reunited later. Maybe she and HJP will spend time together taking care of Grandma and then WIJ will encourage the relationship between him and SDM, thereby giving her a neat and poetic redemption arc. I'm getting really ahead of myself now but as I said before, I can't seem to stop.

Well a lot of this is highly speculative still because we don't know what will happen in the next couple of episodes or when the time jump will be but I feel like everything will be a lot clearer after Sunday.

I will say that I've always assumed that whoever is not with her during the time jump will be the one to end up with her. If SDM and HJP part ways, paradoxically that will make me more confident than ever that they'll be endgame.

Think about it. The most likely purpose of the time jump is to hit the reset button. It will give time for SDM to recover from the lies and allow for the main couple to start over. This applies whether it's HJP or NDS.

If it's SDM and NDS who part ways, that will make me less hopeful for HJP.

Just noticed that Kimsamsoom's theory below goes with the twitter thread by MarhMarh@Jeonggal. The latter noted that HJP gifts SDM with slippers and compares that to when Grandma gifted HJP with a pair of shoes. SDM may walk out of HJP's life just as HJP walked out of Grandma's (as the Korean superstition goes). Then they will reunite after the time jump. Basically a repeat of the beginning except this time they will get off to a truthful start. My brain can't stop seeing everything pointing towards HJP endgame. I guess we'll have to wait and see what the next couple of episodes bring.

Edit: Only thing that makes me doubt that SDM will leave is Grandma but maybe HJP will promise to take care of her, thereby enabling SDM to follow her dream.

Hopefully if it does happen it will become clear well before the end. My concern is that this torture is going to continue right up to the last scene of the last episode.

I'm so sure of it now that I've set myself up for some serious disappointment if he's not endgame. Once it clicked I couldn't convince myself otherwise.

Yes but they would put NDS first because the actor is more marketable. I just don't think we should read too much into that.

LOL I'm not as pessimistic as you. I think it's looking increasingly likely that he is the main lead. It actually looked that way from the beginning but we assumed otherwise because of how it was marketed. I know I might be wrong but...

If the makers of this drama did misleadingly promote NJH as the main lead because he's more marketable than KSH I'm not sure that was a smart move on their part. Given how popular HJP is, I wonder if they lost potential viewers because they promoted the wrong story. When you look at the amount of comments over this drama on reddit and consider that it's basically an HJP/KSH appreciation thread, I can't help thinking if they'd promoted HJP more it would've grabbed more people. The character is clearly very appealing.

Not to mention the fact that if NDS isn't the main lead there's going to be a lot of very miffed NJH fans out there at the end of this.

It's the character not the actor. That being said, I do think the actor is very well cast so that certainly helps.

What would the reaction be if HJP actually does turn out to be the main lead/endgame?

I've convinced myself that the reason NDS is promoted as the lead is because he's played by NJH. NJH is more marketable than KSH so he and Suzy were promoted the most.
