Lao Gao lost all my hopes for him in this episode. So he rather closes a blind eye on that fang guy's unfairness scheme than expose him just to prove to Li Xun that he can't always win in everything. That's some next level sh*t there. I actually felt sorry for him with how LX treats him sometimes, but he's so desperate to prove that he can be better than LX. It's almost sad to witness how low he can get. I don't know what he's like in the novel but he can't possibly be worst than that fang guy. right?
Zhu Yun's father is the same loving father in Go Ahead (I love him so much there, he's the reason why I stuck to the drama) and I'm glad to see that he's playing a loving and supporting father here too. He also cooks!!!!
I hope so too!Ever since cdrama “Crush” , I know we can expect anything - story can go south pretty quickly.…
The ML just got really possessive and borderline aggressive towards her after he met her again. I get that he was angry that she left him but I didn't like how he handled the whole situation. He was also a little obsessed with her. It just felt like their whole relationship was a little unhealthy.
Their relationship is so well played out without the physical touch. Yet their faces have such magnetic attraction,…
Everything you said here is spot on! There's so little physical touch between the two and I'm honestly okay with it! They've been able to speak so well through their eyes that I can feel their every emotion towards each other. The moment they get intimate with each other I might not be able to handle it.
I didn't expect to love this drama so much but it's hitting every mark in my book. I love that it's youthful and cute but at the same time has a serious tone to it too. Someone mentioned that the drama reminds them of Where the Lost Ones Go and I see that! WTLOG was so good too, but so underrated. Glad to see this one getting more love though.
Love our main couple! The chemistry was there from the very beginning. I just love their dynamic and how they're so different from each other but yet complement each other so well too. They also look so good together. That height difference is everything.
I enjoyed the film, but my biggest question is how did he die? There was no explanation for his death and that's going to bother me for a long time. He was a healthy young lad so I'm ruling out death due to some incurable illness, so I'm assuming he might have died from an accident of some sort.
I think I've seen enough love triangle dramas that I have numb my feelings to not fall victim to the second lead syndrome. I'm totally supporting Jung Ji Ho. There's this sadness about him that makes me want him to find happiness in Sang Eun, in a way he has already even if he doesn't know it yet.
Personally I enjoyed episode 2 a lot more than the first episode. We get to see a little more personality from all three main leads. A little more backstory as well.
The character Jung Ji Ho is giving me a little bit of "Because This is My First Life" ML vibe played by Lee Min Ki. That awkward and weird vibe, you know. I hope we get to see a dorky side to him in the future too. And there's also a cat too. What a coincidence!
Oh wow! I must be the odd one here because I love this drama so far. I thought I'll watch the first episode to see how this drama goes, but I end up watching all six episodes in one night. I love how different this drama is. Usually we have the future going back to the past but here it's the past going to the future, however the future here isn't modern present day, but during the Republican era. I also love the added xianxia. Usually I don't like to watch Chinese Republican era related drama because of how heavy the politic topic is but here that's not the main plot or sub-plot and for that I personally think it's so refreshing and different. Also the drama is on the shorter side so I know it won't drag the storyline. It's moving quite fast actually. Overall I'm enjoying it!
This drama is the "black horse" for me this year. I didn't even know about it! I didn't even know who Esther Yu is. I know who Dylan Wang is, but I wasn't a fan of any of his past work. However, this might be one of my favorite xianxias to date. A lot of people say that Immortal Samsara has a similar vibe as Ashes of Love, but I beg a differ. LBFAD gives me more of Ashes of Love vibe for some odd reasons and maybe that's why I love it so much. AOL being one of my all time favorite cdramas.
Also I want to say that Dylan Wang surprised me in this drama. He is phenomenal in this role! All my opinions about him changed completely after this. I came to the conclusion that it wasn't his acting that I disliked, it might've been the role(s) and dramas that he was given. Hopefully after the success of this drama he will land better roles in the future.
As for Esther, like I said I didn't know who she was when I started watching. I just thought she was a new upcoming actress only to find out recently that she's an idol singer. Overall I think she did a decent job for her first major acting role. I'm looking forward to her future work. I know she has one coming out soon with my other baby Zhang BinBin. I will most likely watch that one in the near future.
Currently watching Love Between Fairy and Devil and Dylan Wang is absolutely amazing in it! I had my doubts on him due to his past dramas but he completely changed my mind about his acting now. Saw the trailer and from the looks of it he's going to kill it with this role as well. So I'm pretty excited about it......except for one thing.
I hope people don't hate me for saying this but I don't like the FL here. I've tried to watch her other dramas but she's not doing it for me. I don't want to hate on her, but she's just not proving it to me that she's a worthy actor. However I will watch this drama when it comes out simply for the plot, Dylan Wang, and freakin Zeng Li!!! I also love Peter Ho too. I do hope the FL will prove me wrong like how Dylan did with LBFAD, but from the trailer she still looks and act the same from all her other dramas. Fingers-crossed that she will show improvement in this drama!
I'm so happy to see this airing but I'm not liking the way they promoted this drama. They just dropped it out of nowhere along with the promotion images. A little promotion leading to the airing date would've gather a higher viewership and excitement.
Oh yea I totally remember the time many people felt Mark Chao was not a fit to be casted for his role in Eternal…
You don't think Cheng Yi is good-looking??? I think he is lol XD As for Mark I've seen his Taiwanese works so I was already familiar with him before Eternal Love, and I was pretty certain he was going to do the character justice and I was right.
it's kind of funny because in China, CX is considered one of the best looking from his generation.
I don't know what the cnets are saying about his appearance but here I've read a couple of comments stating his appearance is not to their preference but they're loving him for his performance and I just find it funny because it was the same with Mark Chao during Eternal Love.
It's kinda sad that visuals are so perfected in dramas that if you do not have a 'Yang Yang' kind of face you're…
You're right. I remember he was like the "it" boy for a while and then the whole ZYL dating rumor came upon and then the unpopular opinions/criticisms of ROCH (I believe he was very vocal in defending Michelle at the time and the cnets were not happy about it, but long behold they got married and have a beautiful family together now we all know why he defended her so aggressively) really made his popularity dropped. He never really recovered from it.
It’s my first time ever watching Chen Xiao, but wow I’m loving his acting here. It’s so on point along with…
I haven't seen a lot of his work, but the ones I've seen of his he has always nailed it in term of acting. He doesn't do a lot of romance, which is something I prefer, so it's understanding why not a lot of people know him.
Something funny that I don't see anyone mention is that Chen Xiao is in Romance of the Condor Heroes and Liu Yi Fei is known for her goddess beauty in Return of the Condor Heroes. Who would have thought these two would one day work in this masterpiece together lol.

P.S. The OSTs for this drama is the BOMB!!!
