These are great recommendations! I've not seen any of them, so I'm putting them all on my Plan to Watch list. Which website did you watch them on?
I thought of another K-drama: My Unfortunate Boyfriend. The ML is maybe the gentlest ML of any drama I've ever seen. (Unfortunately he picked a FL who can be quite nasty but we can't win 'em all....)
One of my favorite J-doramas is Kimi wa Petto, (the 2017 version.) I love Momo's character so much...

Don't listen to the bad reviews and don't compare this version to any others. Just watch for the beauty that is Shison Jun, and enjoy.

A drama's rating should come from the experience of watching the whole thing, not just the first episode.

So let's list the best non-tsundere dramas here (J or otherwise) that we and the rest of the MDL audience should watch instead.
I'm watching Ojisan wa Kawaii Mono ga Osuki right now, and while it's not a typical rom-com, the ML is kind, and sweet, and loves cute things! :-)
One of my favorite K-dramas is When the Weather is Fine, where the ML is again, kind, and loving to not just the FL but everyone around him.

Yoshizawa Ryo is one of my favorites: Marmalade Boy, Survival Wedding, Love and Hong Kong, River's Edge, Ano ko no, Toriko, Not Quite Dead Yet, etc

Maybe someone should do an article on how ratings differ from country to country. I've also been unpleasantly surprised by the low ratings of some of my favorite J-doramas (I so much prefer the rating systems on other sites to MDL because everything here is too low, including k-dramas....)

Thanks for the info. It's just not worth it for me to watch 156 episodes for one kiss at the very end.

Just your opinion. Also I don't understand why every one of the lead character would deserve "divine punishment and retribution." But again, just your opinion.

I totally agree with you, though! That drama made me so mad.

I could think of at least one character that perhaps deserved more time on earth though...

Excellent observation , as usual, 3GGG! I am steering VERY clear of any and all dramas with disaster and/or dystopian themes during this unsettling time - a global pandemic is already enough like a zombie apocalypse and I don’t need to add anything to the anxiety and stress.

It was rough, I agree. It took me a long time to get through that drama because I knew what was coming.
