Ok, WOW. This was.....I don't even have the words. If you're going to quote me in your review, then have the decency to actually quote me and use my name. But honestly, Joy, you're just mean. Japanese men are ugly?! "They aren't eye candy." They have weird hairstyles?!
"It was kind of cute so I was hoping it would be a guy." IT?! She's a person, not a thing and the proper way to talk about someone if you don't know their gender would be "they," not "it." It's not funny, actually, it's nasty.

And I don't read you being this nasty about other cultures on MDL, but you seem to go all out whenever anything Japanese is talked about. You wrote in your now-edited comment that you hated J-dramas so badly that you thought that "Hiroshima and Nagasaki weren't enough" - that's veering into some pretty serious territory.

I GET IT - you didn't like the drama I wrote about and recommended.

I liked that drama as well. I really like Ryusei and look forward to seeing him more!

Love this comment! I'm so thrilled that you gave it a try and that you liked it! I agree that it's worth the advertising. :-)

omg... you made me miss my college days where I went to uni in a different city and lived in a share house with…
I hope you can find folks to eat with soon - eating alone can be ok for a while but eating good food with other people can help with so many things. I eat dinner with my family every day, (my spouse and children), but I also miss eating and drinking with kindred spirits. :-)

Not true.I watched ALL THOSE DRAMAS and they were completely different in vibe and everything else. It's not about…
The drama that I just co-wrote a recap on was none of those things, and while I admit that some J-dramas have reflected a misogyny that's present in most cultures around the world , there are an equal number of J-dramas that aren't like that at all.
K-dramas have also gone through stages where they tick all of those boxes, and some still are squarely in them - except maybe perverted, simply because they're too purity-focused instead, although I can think of a number that feature a sexual harassment element that is accepted in the drama but that would be illegal in many other countries.
Thai dramas, Taiwanese dramas and Chinese dramas have also at times reflected a cultural element that is male-centered, and quite a few seem to want to make the case that sexual assault is not only acceptable but par for the course, but by no means are all of their dramas like that.

Ok. I'm glad to see you edited your earlier comment, but I still don't understand your vehemence. But whatever, to each their own.

Finished this in almost a day!!! It's soooooo good.. It's so nice to see characters that are not possessive and…
That's a quick watch! :-) I understand, though, because it's such a great drama. And I totally agree with you that the characters are thankfully free from much of the toxicity of other dramas.
