Now hear me out. On another discussion Huain En is blamed for the Jin Family's downfall but someone pointed out…
The downfall of the Jin family was inevitable. The imperial court had their suspicions and it was only a matter of time. Tho Huaein kinda speed things up a bit. Xiaobao's father knew that the truth will be revealed one day and had planned for their family's safety and escape but failed.
As for Huaein, he was simply following orders like he always does. But, he fell for Xiaobao. Thus, he planned and made arrangements so that the Jin family will be spared from death. At least that's what he thought. His main priority was to complete the mission to gain freedom from his father's control and he'll return for Xiaobao holding on to Xiaobao's promise that he will be forgiven no matter what.
But to the innocent Xiaobao, it was the worst betrayal. Plus he was told that the only reason Huaein made sure they were alive was cos he is after the remaining hidden wealth of the Jin family. Xiaobao will go through hell and his love for Huaien will turn into hate. But once Huaien learn of what exactly happened to Xiaobao, he will do whatever it takes to win him back. He will basically run amok but he'll get there, eventually.
does anyone know if we will get the second cp in the drama? the divine doctor x jin bao, i haven't really checked…
The divine doctor is listed next to Su Yin in the cast members list. He is an important character in the second half of the novel. I can even say he's one of the catalyst to Xiaobao and Huaein's reconciliation. He's shown in the opening montage with Jin Bao and I think they'll be the second couple as in the novel.
the cliffhanger 😭😭😭😭. Xiaobao really should had talk to Huai En before going to the brothel. Huai…
In the novel he told Huaien he'd be out to do an errand, cos in his mind really he was just going to get an asthma recipe for his father and while there, he was gonna meet his old buddies for a fundraising for the plague at that time. His intentions were pure. He wanted to prove to his parents that he *can* do something good and can be a responsible son so they won't oppose him and Huaien being together.
Trust me. Xiaobao will definitely not be soft on him the next time they meet. He'll be begging and in tears. But…
Yes, I did. At first, I was in pace with the series and didn't want to read beyond what's been shown on the drama. But after reading the brothel scene and Huaien's betrayal, I just had to read till the end. Good thing you haven't started yet :))
Did not read the novel but I feel like the vibes are going to be different after this episode. Also I hope XiaoBao…
Trust me. Xiaobao will definitely not be soft on him the next time they meet. He'll be begging and in tears. But lots of things will happen before that. Another character will be introduced. From here on, no lovey-dovey. Just angst.
I tried to control myself not to read the novel ahead of the series, but I couldn't help it. Those who haven't read yet, don't start. Haha.

" Xiaobao is about to channel his inner diva and act like Huai En is the worst thing since unsliced bread." -- I say deserve.
