Title Devilish Joy
I'm loving it so far, but why am i having a bad feeling about the ending? With his medical condition (brain dying)…
I think your comment should be tagged as a spoiler. As someone who is waiting until it gets off the air to watch, I didn't need to know this bit of information.

So how did you like it?
I've been trying to watch it recently, but just can't get into it. Jung So Min kinda rubs me the wrong way, plus I'm not really a fan of or familiar with many of the cast. But I've been a weird mood lately so it's probably due to that. Usually I don't care who's in a drama as long as the story sounds good to me.

I really liked Lee Yo Won in Golden Empire and was about to put this on my watchlist, but when I saw that it is written by the same writer who wrote that piece of trash, Temptation, I have to give it a pass. Never again.

How can they put talentless actress next to Hyun Bin.. I find Shin Hye's acting so fake, but on the other hand…
Don't mind the rabid PSH fangirls. You're totally right! I always want to laugh when I watch her - she seems to try so hard, but her performances always come off so inauthentic and gimmicky. I just can't fathom why she's often referred to as a 'top actress'. Top of what? Certainly not the art & craft of acting. When she's able to pull off versatile roles and acting like Jun Do Yeon, then she'll become a 'top actress'' in my eyes. She must be a nice person irl because she's not particularly beautiful (she does have a nice head of hair though) and she's not a very good actress ... at all. But a good personality can get you far. So either she has that going for her or she's got connections that can pull strings for her (just because she may be attached to a small agency means nothing at all if your agent can do their job well). In any case, I've never been impressed with her as an actress and I've seen a couple of her dramas and movies, though I've only ever been able to finish one (The Heirs ... and I want my time back).

Sounds edgy af but im EXCITED FOR PARK SHIN HYE
Somehow I can't see 'edgy' and Park Shin Hye working well together in the same drama.

So how did you like it?
I tend to like family dramas. After all, I love the family warmth and the multiple love story arcs. However, they can get on my last nerve, and they have. To the point where I stopped watching them all together.

What I don't like about them is that pretty much the only conflict that drives these dramas is parents playing too big of a role in their adult children's lives (esp, when it comes to who they can date/marry). The children fall in love with who they love and the parents oppose, do everything in their power to break them up (for one ridiculous reason or the other). That's basically the entire conflict for 50+ episodes, back and forth, back and forth. Not only do I I get sick & tired of this, I also find it terribly annoying that parents wield so much power over their grown children and that the children never challenge their parents on this.

I know parental approval is indeed a thing in many Asian societies, but I also know that human beings are inherently selfish. The heart (or the flesh) wants what it wants and I know there HAS to be some children who will simply NOT allow their parents to dictate their lives, and certainly not who they can date/marry. For a change, I want to see more family dramas with those children. Interestingly, I found one recently. In All About My Mother one of the couples refused to break up just because their parents didn't approve. This was such a breath of fresh air. I liked this drama (despite some demerits) and would, therefore, recommend you give it a try.

These other family dramas also got high'ish scores (7 or 8) from me: Ojakgyo Brothers, My Precious You, Golden Bride, Smile You ...

So she's dating Choi Tæ Joon. Just finished watching him in All About My Mom. I like the kid. And I actually think they make a good match. Let's hope she kisses better in real life than in her dramas. Hahaha. Still wish she'd retire though...
And you fanatics better back up off my comment. If you love her, good on you! I don't and that's my right, arraseo?

Listen, if you haven't started this drama and you're unsure if you should give it a chance, here's my advice:…
I respect that we're all different, but I have no idea how people are able to subject themselves to constant death, sadness and pain. I RUN far, far away from shows like this.

I HATE:
Love triangles & SMLs who are always hovering around the FL, hoping she'll change her mind about him. Fool, she don't want you, move tf on!
FL who do not set clear boundaries for above mentioned SML. Always hanging around him & intentionally or not intentionally encouraging his obsession.
Grown ass adults who allow their parents to run their lives! (thank goodness in newer dramas this is becoming less popular!)
FL/ML torn between two men/women.
Beta males who are too timid & cowardly af.
Alpha males who are consummate jerks, with no redeeming qualities!
Noona romances
Sugary sweet, goody two shoes type heroines, eg: Yoon Shil in Wolygesu Taylor Shop (but actually I hate the actress more than I hate the character bcuz this is how she plays ALL her roles!)
Dramas about cheating spouses, acrimonious marriages ... ugh! Temptation, I'm looking at you! You piece of trash!
I know it's a cultural thing, but promoting SUICIDE as a way of atonement for sins/wrongdoings. No, no, no! Why can't people just go to prison????
SAD endings. Life is sad enough, thank you!

SPECIAL MENTIONS:
Pathetic, weepy, spineless FLs. I'm not obsessed with the so-called 'strong female lead' as strength for me can be manifested in many different ways, so I don't believe a 'strong female lead' can only be portrayed one way, as the writer implies. However, PATHETIC, always WEEPY, SPINELESS female leads are a big no, no for me!

Asian TV censorship that force grown ass adults to act like pre-teens when it comes to sex/intimacy. I mean, something is seriously wrong with a 40 yr old man/woman engaging in wall/fish kissing!!! How many times have we seen this scenario: 33 yr old, handsome, rich, virile young CEO, has every thing going for him ... has NEVER had sex or noticed a woman in all his life until he finally decides to marry his secretary. Yeah, right!

I have been known to tolerate open/ambiguous endings, but rarely have I seen one done well in dramas, so I tend to hate them!

I hate the fact that Asian dramas do genre mixing so poorly. Since I'm a romance fan, I love when romance is incorporated into other genres, esp crime, drama, suspense etc but it has to be done organically to be effective (eg Cruel City). Most times, however, it's awkwardly inserted or not included at all. I just can't wrap my head around Korean showrunners, esp.

I HATE when many keep recommending a drama and teasers about a sad ending drma and talk about the leads chemistryI…
Hehe, good list. I agree with a lot of it.
