in the novel it seems they had a emotional affair and even intimate moments in the first love. as for the drama, even though may not have intimate scenes, she invited a man to her household and lived together with him for almost 20 years, wich also lies on emotional affair/cheating. as for the male lead reading spoilers he didnt seems to had an affair, she was the only woman he ever loved
